Klay talks 60-pt game; Warriors’ hot start

+

"That was a big moment in my career, and hopefully I’ll be able to eclipse it one day. I know it’s tough, but I never thought I’d be able to outdo 37 points in a quarter, and this is kind of special in its own right. I surprised myself again, and hopefully it won’t be the last time... I watch it … just to see what I did well. I was in such a good groove and, like you said, I only took 11 dribbles, and I was efficient in all of my movement. So, yeah, I watch it to see what I did well... A few [more] shots I could have made, but mainly to remind myself I can do great things in this league if I just play as hard as I can and bring great focus every game, and that’s the biggest challenge for a lot of athletes in this league. The 82-game schedule, it’s hard to focus every night. But the best ones do this — they bring it — so I just remind myself of what I could do by watching that film... I gotta give us an A-. I think we’re playing at a really high level right now. We have the best record in the NBA. [But] we expected to, just with the talent we have, and the system we run, and the amount of great players you have. We knew it was going to take time. Obviously, out the gate, personally I didn’t play that well. But I knew it was early in the season, so I wasn’t really worried. I knew if I went to the gym, put the time in, I was going to get back on track."

Dub Hordes' Prayer

1

O Threesus, who art in Oakland. Hallowed be thy game. Thy three-points come. Thy splash be done. In Oracle as it is away. Give us this day our daily win. And forgive those who doubt you. As we forgive the Clippers (nah jk f**k them) And lead us not into Staples Center. But deliver us from the Cavs. For thine is the free throw, and the layup, and the And-One, forever and ever. Klaymen.

How Kevin Durant became his most efficient self yet

+

"It feels cool to be on the other side now. It feels like you against the world, your team against the world, so you gotta go out there and show 'em what you're made of. I like that."

Kerr on Klay if he'd stayed in Pacers game

I know he would have kept shooting.

Myers on Damian Jones "gonna be hard to crack rotation"

+

"He's healthy, which is good. He had a pectoral injury -- it's better than having a lower body thing ... but it's gonna take a little while for him. He's got all the things we need -- size, athleticism, shot blocking, rim running. But in my experience when I was an agent, representing big guys -- guards assimilate better or quicker into the NBA than big guys do, in my opinion ... the speed, the strength, the rotations -- it's different. A big, young guy in the NBA -- takes longer. But he's doing fine. He's got the right mindset. It's gonna be hard to crack our rotation, but he hasn't played basketball in seven months. He needs to play a lot more basketball. But we're encouraged."

KD on Dubs' pre-game huddle

"Man, dancing ain't my thing, but you know I'm a team player," Durant told ESPN in an exclusive interview. "Am I going to be the only one out there not dancing? That's not how I roll. Whatever my team wants to do, I'm with it. Even if it means me getting out there dancing."

DPOYmond post-game

"Oh, I love those," Green said with a smile. "It’s a double slap in the face. When you get the shot blocked and it goes off you out of bounds … it’s pretty funny. I like those. They’re pretty cool."

Golden State Warriors head coach talks politics, Trump

+

"People ask us, so why shouldn't I answer? I have this forum. If there's something important to speak on, then I think we should speak on it," Kerr told David Axelrod on "The Axe Files" podcast, produced by CNN and the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. "In this case, I felt it was important to address not the politics of the election, but the nature of the election cycle. It's the first time in my life that the election was not about policy, or even personality. It was about anger. It was about fear. And I was disgusted." "I don't care what side of the political spectrum you're on," Kerr said. "People vote for all kinds of reasons, right? You vote for your pocket book. You vote for abortion rights or gay marriage or you vote for certain social policies or maybe foreign policy. Maybe you're worried about this or that. And that's what it should be about. You should vote based on policy. But this election had nothing to do with policy. It had to do with hatred and fear and we had a candidate who stirred that up, and I thought it was a horrible precedent for our country." "If the president of the country can make remarks that are hateful and offensive, then it sort of rubber stamps it for a lot of people and that's scary," he said. "I'm not the authority on any of this, but what I do feel strongly about is a level of respect that has to exist between candidates but also between people," he added. "I'm a Democrat. I've got lots of friends who are Republicans. We have really great, healthy conversations. There's a respect level. That's how it should be. Again, people voting on policy? Absolutely. But the nature, the tenor of this election was ugly and nasty and it's scary in terms of what direction that is going to take."

STEVE KERR PROVIDES INSIGHT BEHIND WARRIORS' LINEUP COMBINATIONS

+

"It's different this year," the Warriors' head coach explained on KNBR 680 on Tuesday. "The last couple of years, our rotation just fit togther so easily. And as a coach, it was really simple to figure out. And this year, we tend to have a lot more decisions game-to-game. "I might play Ian (Clark) one game, and I might play Patrick (McCaw) in the same minutes the next game. We went small against Boston and played McAdoo, the next game we felt like it was a JaVale game and JaVale did a great job against the Pacers. "I think we have kind of more niche players who are going to fit differently from one game to the next. And so our rotation is not gonna look exactly the same night in and night out. "It's kind of fun. I enjoy it. And our players are great about accepting that and being ready to get out there and contribute. And they all have. They've done a great job."

Steve Kerr trolls Milwaukee hard

I will offer two tickets to anybody in the stands, to a game at Oracle, who shows up with a "10-3" shirt on. That would be awesome. I'm not giving 'em a plane ticket or a place to stay. But I'll give 'em a couple tickets. It's got to be a real one, though. They can't just scribble on [because] they see this on the way over. It's got to be, like, silkscreened. They've got to have the shirt, it's got to be professionally done, it has to come true and they have to pay their own airfare and hotel.
