Monta Ellis is key to Golden State Warriors' defensive improvement

(Marcus Thompson II) Nellie was sick for Sunday's practice. The talk with Smart is about the team understand defensive concepts and improving on it. CJ not expected to go on the road for @Mavs and @Spurs.

Personal thought: If our defensive focus is on steals and turnovers, then looking at the opponent shooting percentage is not enough, as steals and turnovers don't hurt their fg%. What's our opponent scoring percentage per possession?

Edit: Found my answer: Hollinger's Team Stats, sorted by Defensive Efficiency (points per 100 possessions). We're tied 27th/28th with the Grizzlies, bleh. Well, we've only played like a real team for the past 4 of our 12 games. It would be worth checking back after another 10 games or so to see if we've improved or not.

Edit 2: Thanks onlxn. The link above appears to be old data. I couldn't find an easy to compare chart of points per 100 possessions this season, but here's the link to the Warriors pts per 100 possession at 82games.com

A risky trade, would you do it?

Would you trade Maggette for Caron Butler? But wait there's a catch, we give up our 1st round pick. We have looked good lately and I think this could get us back in the playoff picture but at what cost? Gain an all star and lose a bad contract, lose a 1st rounder. Would you do a trade like this? I know Maggs has played well lately but it's an interesting thought.

Just seeing how far we are willing to go.
