Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

The Santa Cruz Warriors will have the help of Kent Bazemore and Jeremy Tyler when they play their first game at Kaiser Permanente Arena tonight (5 p.m. PST via YouTube).

With the Golden State Warriors having a few days off before their next game, guard Kent Bazemore and post Jeremy Tyler have been assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors and will be available to play in the first-ever game at the new Kaiser Permanente Arena.

Both have already played a game previously for Santa Cruz but tonight's game against the Bakersfield Jam will be the first time they'll be playing together against D-League competition. Santa Cruz has won both games they played with a Golden State assignee on the roster and has gone 3-2 in games without them, including their first loss of the season in Bakersfield on December 3.

As described well by Gino Pilato of SB Nation's Ridiculous Upside previously, these assignments shouldn't be seen as a demotion as much as an opportunity to get some time on the floor for players who are getting limited minutes in the NBA. Neither Bazemore nor Tyler has played for more than five minutes in a Golden State game this season although Bazemore has seen time as part of the defensive unit in end-of-quarter situations.
