GSoF: Super Bowl!
Giants - Patriots.

Yeah yeah, the Patriots beat the Chargers. Whatever...that wasn't too unexpected...
But Eli Manning and the G-Men are in the Super Bowl? Say what?!?! If anyone got to catch that game two weeks ago, you caught a very heart pounding contest. Favre throwing INT and INT? Tynes missing field goal after field goal and then finally hitting the game winner? Eli not crying for once?

Go Eli??
I will say this - the Giants deserve their props. Call it skill, call it luck, they made it to the Super Bowl and who really saw that coming? I applaud the G-Men...congratulations.

GSoF: Championship Playoff Weekend
Don't ya just love the NFL playoffs?
Romo choked! Romo choked! Romo choked!
Man, I love saying that! Weren't the Cowboys supposed to make it to the Super Bowl? In 4 quarters a poor performance by Tony Romo and a poised Eli Manning (did I really just write that?) the Cowboys were knocked out of the playoffs. Was it Romo's trip to Mexico with Jessica Simpson? Who knows. Does it really matter? Nope. Where does the blame go? Penalties - 11 for 84 yards.

Who is this guy and what did he do with Eli Manning?
Norv Turner can't win in the playoffs? What? The Chargers upset over the Colts was the most improbable situation to ever happen - LT was injured in the first half Rivers was injured in the 3rd quarter and yet the Chargers' backups pulled it together. Backup QB Billy Volek put together a 78 yard drive in the final 5 minutes of the game to take the lead. Then, the Chargers defense stepped in and stopped Manning and the Colts on 4th down. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Norv Turner knows what he's doing!

Maybe you should be more like your brother

GSoF: Divisional Playoff Weekend
Divisional Playoff weekend!
So far the playoffs have panned out like this
Say goodbye to the Titans. It was a close game until the 4th quarter when Norv Turner decided to go for it on 4th and Goal and LT made an amazing leap over the pile to score his only TD of the game. The Titans had an amazing season and considering they made they playoffs two years after having the 3rd pick in the NFL draft, things have really turned around for the team. Vince Young still has a long way to go, but in a few years he'll put in the top 5 QBs in the league. As for the Madden Curse, can we necessarily call for it? He didn't have as good of a statistical season as he did last year, but all great QBs regress a bit after their first season, right? I mean just look at Alex Smith...
The dream is over for the Redskins. It was unbelievable how the ended in the playoffs anyway - all the odds seemed against them about halfway through the season (sounds familiar...) but they pulled through and played with extreme passion. After losing in the first round, Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs decided to resign from his position leaving the team with another great loss.

GSoF: Wild Card Weekend

The Road to the Super Bowl begins!
The Titans managed to claim the final AFC spot with their win over the Colts last week. Peyton Manning and the rest of the starters had limited action so it was all left to backup QB Jim Sorgi to try to keep the Titans out of the playoff picture. Early in the third quarter, Vince Young took a huge hit to his quads and was taken out of the game. Somehow, Kerry Collins (remember him?) kept the game in the Titans hands. Poor Browns...
Who would have thought the Redskins would claim that last NFC spot? After going 5-3 to start the season, they lost 4 straight to fall to 5-7. Now, they're 9-7 and the 6th seed in the NFC. Although the Cowboys rested their starters last week and basically handed the `Skins the W, the Redskins are still a team to fear. Perhaps #21 is still with them...

GSoF: Week 17 Recap and GSoF Winners!

I saw this two too many times
Patriots...16-0.
Even if I wanted to hate on the Patriots, Tom Brady, or Randy Moss - I can't. This team deserves all that they accomplished for doing what seemed to be the impossible - going unbeaten in the regular season.
But remember, that's unbeaten - not undefeated. There's still the playoffs and potentially the Superbowl!
So for all you Patriots fans - here's a quick list of the records they set this year...
- Tom Brady threw for 50 TD passes.
- Randy Moss had 23 TD receptions.
- The Patriots had 75 total TDs.
- The Patriots scored a total of 589 total points.
- The Patriots had a regular season record of 16-0
Mad props to the NY Giants for putting up an amazing fight for giving it their all. They weren't ready to just fall over in defeat and I respect that. Unfortunately , they lost a few key players due to injuries which might affect their outcome in the playoffs...but we'll see.
Enough Patriots love, hit up the jump to see the three official GSoF winners! Your Warrior tickets AND GSoM T-Shirts from the GSoM Store 2.0 are just one click away!

GSoF: Week 16 Recap and Week 17 Predictions

It all comes down to one game
Perfection is only 1 hour away for the Patriots. The 16-0 season that seemed probable but unlikely is now almost guaranteed.
16-0 is only a part of the amazing story that has surrounded the 2007 Patriots. Let us not forget about the "unbeatable" records that both Brady and Moss are 1 away from. Tom Brady needs one more TD pass to tie Peyton Manning's single season record of 49 and Randy Moss needs one more reception TD to tie Jerry Rice's single's season record 22. Although they'll both reach those records, Rice hit 22 TD receptions in only 12 games because of the strike that season. How bout we put an "asterix" next to Rice's name in the record books?
Obviously all these Pats records put the Giants in a bit of a situation...should they play their starters and risk injuries to beat up players or do what's best for them? I say rest - the Patriots don't affect them in the postseason and they need to do what's best for them. But we'll see in a few hours how it plays out...

No need to hustle this time around buddy
Who screwed up their playoff dreams last week? Both the Vikings and the Browns had a chance to clinch a playoff spot with wins and both teams came up short. They no longer control their destinies and are hoping for losses to get back in the running.
My predictions - The Redskins claim the final NFC spot and the Browns claim the final AFC spot.
49er fans saw the last home game of the great Bryant Young - the last of the '94 Super Bowl team. Young had an amazing career with the 9ers and his presence on the D-line and on the team will be missed.

Something tells me this wasn't easy to do!
Oh snap, the great Atma Brother #1 won the NFL picks by going 14-2! I guess you can send us your e-mail address so you can mail yourself a poster...but you might as well just hang that up somewhere in your pad!
Next week I'll be hitting up a final recap and announcing the winner of those Warrior tickets...so stay tuned!

GSoF: Week 15 Recap and Week 16 Predictions!
The Dolphins win! THE DOLPHINS WON THEIR FIRST GAME!! They were celebrating like they won the Super Bowl!

And who are the Raiders and the 49ers sending?
Raiders
Shane Lechler (Punter)
49ers
Patrick Willis (Inside Linebacker)
Andy Lee (Punter)
At least our kicking games are good?
But in all seriousness, Patrick Willis deserves the spot (as do Lechler and Lee) and to show GSoM's admiration (apologies for the poor quality)

GSoF: Week 14 Recap and Week 15 Predictions!
The 49ers finally saw some action out of their star QB Shaun Hill! In his first drive ever he led the 9ers to a touchdown! That's more than Alex Smith could say! Maybe he's the next Tony Romo? Guess we shoulda kept Smith on the bench for 6 years...

The Patriots won again. Yay. But was this play necessary?

GSoF: Week 13 Recap and Week 14 Predictions
I like that the Redskins put 10 players on the field on their first defensive play in order to honor Sean Taylor, but maybe they should have told the Bills before hand? Sadly, they didn't win that game, but their miraculous win (2 INTs by Shawn Springs!) against the Bears on Thursday night might be enough to give em some juice to end the year.

The Patriots almost lost again. Bad calls, bad plays, whatever the reason, they're still undefeated.
