Golden State "Good Times" :: Golden State Warriors 2009-2010 Season

Gsom_good_times_medium
From left to right: Stephen Curry, Anthony Tolliver, Corey Maggette, Anthony Morrow, Chris Hunter and Devean George

I know we didn't have a great record, but as a fan I am really proud of these guys. Sure we had some ugly games, but a lot of them were really close. This team was so plagued with injuries that it had to make 5  D-League call ups. Several of the D-Leaguers definitely showed some great potential though. I wanted to recreate a scene from one of their games where everyone was just hanging out smiling and having a big laugh. It felt like a great moment to just draw the team having a good time.

Golden State Young Guns

Young_gunz_gsom_medium
New Season. New Art Style. New Wallpaper Art. New Warriors.

It's time to get back to Golden State Warriors design business. This is going to be my 3rd season with GSoM ( I'm opting out next season... just kidding!) and with the upcoming season at hand, I am stoked! I wanted to get these three Young Guns on the drawing board with an updated style on my part.

I wanted to get more detailed and refine my style to make it look more cleaner. It's kind of like a cartoon so to speak. And who better to set it off than Golden State's summer sensations than Anthony RandolphAnthony Morrow and Stephen Curry? I just had fun with these, from their facial expressions to their shoes- had to get the shoes down right!

Well I hope you guys are feeling the same way I am with these three... excited! We're just months away from Warriors basketball and I've got my eyes on these young upstarts and their contributions to the team.

The GSoM Enquirer

Gsom_eq_mag_medium

Sorry Guys, I've been away too long... I wanted to put some of my page layout skills to use on GSoM (with Adobe inDesign CS4)  and decided to construct a parody magazine layout in the form of those nifty grocery store tabloid mags! The nice thing about GSoM is that anything and everything about our Golden State Warriors is here. I can spend a good amount of my day on GSoM reading up on everything that is Golden State Basketball. It's all here: trade Rumors (my personal favorite), win-loss ratios or scenarios, even personal information to where the players shop, eat and hangout can be found in FanPosts. The GSoM Enquirer simply pays tribute to the everyday news, rumors, and rants of our Golden State Community!

Amazing Thunder

Amazing_thunder_gsom_medium

I know... Get over it... Thunder sucked anyways! Although Thunder is no longer Golden State's mascot, for me, that was one of many things missing this season (along with the playoffs) that bothered me. So what if OKC jacked our mascot's name? Why were we one of the only teams in the NBA this season without a mascot? Did it really matter? Yea it did! Kids got a kick out of him and he got me all excited at the home games by bringing that extra hype any mascot is supposed to do!

A few months ago I ended Thunder's spotlight with a "Death of a Mascot..." portrayal that kind of ended on a down note. With this Amazing Fantasy rendition... (Yes that's Rowell he's holding!) I wanted to finish off my Thunder segment with something a little more upbeat... for the Bay Area folks. Enjoy!

Stakes is High: Monta Ellis

Ellis_gsom_medium

What's up everybody... don't mind me, I just wanted to draw! Anyways, minus the game against New Orleans, Monta Ellis has been putting up some ridiculous numbers. Scoring at least 26 points with 4.6 assists, 4.4 boards, 1.6 steals and 57% shooting from the field since his return from injury last week. The past few months I've read some very interesting fan posts and articles asking whether we should dump Monta or keep him. All have been great reads by the way! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but no doubt, I'm just glad he's back playing ball and putting up some exciting numbers! Brand new drawing completed on a Sunday afternoon!

All eyes on Anthony Randolph

Ar_gsom_medium

What's up everybody. It's been a hot second since I've posted here on GSoM and I apologize for the delay (had to take care of some business). Last night's game was the first game this season that really had me hyped. It had just about everything I could want in a GSW basketball game. I was really inspired by Anthony Randolph's performance. I know he's had his moments of greatness and has a fair share of rookie mistakes but I'm willing to forgive him as long as we get to see him develop under a Warriors uniform. He gave me reason to enjoy his game last night, hustle plays, rebounding, blocks and emotion! This image kind of says it all. AR doesn't always have a lot of emotion but he's a joy to watch develop.
