Believe me... I was trying to find something fun to draw but this 9 game losing streak is getting to me. While our community has voiced their opinions on a number of issues lacking within our team, I wanted to contribute it on the artistic tip... but how? Back in the mid 90's, DC comics decided to kill off Superman and piss off a lot of folks. While I feel like we're in the same situation, The death of "We Believe" doesn't mean it's gonna be gone forever. Hopefully it will come back the same way Superman did a few years later. You can believe whatever you want. For now, the thrill is gone.

I don't hate the Warriors, and I don't plan on jumping ship, this is just how I currently feel artistically. When I looked back at that Superman issue 75 cover of his cape flapping around some rubble, hanging on a wooden stick, that's how I feel about our season so far. I'm sure things will change when Monta returns, but you never know...

Friday's home game match up against The Chicago Bulls is also "Filipino Heritage Night" at the Oracle Arena. For myself and so may others, this is an important night showcasing of course, our fearless Golden State Warriors and an evening filled with Filipino related entertainment, culture and our community having a great time out at the Roaracle!

The concept behind "The Tricycle" design is a celebration of 2 interests. First, when I was growing up, I often enjoyed my tricycle rides in the Philippines and loved the look of each stylized tricycle. Second, my devotion towards Warriors basketball fell into place and had me wondering, "What if the Warriors had a "We Believe" Tricycle?!"  So there you have it, a Warriors-colored tricycle with Monta riding it in style (oversized shirt, comfortable summer shorts and slippers!) You'd be surprised at how many folks can fit in a Tricycle!

Since last season, a handful of fans at Warrior Games have told me "You should do a Mac Dre drawing of Stephen Jackson..."  I could picture it in my head but couldn't get an idea out till my homie told me to draw the "Thizzelle Washington" cover. I lashed out at the Sacramento game and drew up the "Thizzle Jackson" artwork for the upcomin' Thursday game vs. Detroit. I figure that if my wife's gonna rock a Biedrins "Double-Double" sign and I didn't wanna be left empty handed! It's gonna be hard missing us at the game on Thursday with this on hand! Enjoy.

Andris Biedrins is putting up some impressive numbers and every time I hear anything about Andris, the word "Double Double" comes up! On Thursday, Fantasy Junkie and I were supposed to get together for a quick meeting but he got caught up with other meetings throughout the day. I decided to have my "cheat day" early and for lunch proceeded to eat at Carls Jr. As I was eating my burger I noticed everything in the menu had the word "Double" in it. So I put the idea of Biedrins and fast food burgers together and came up with this!

Keep up the excellent work Andris! You officially have your own burger advertisement packed with 2 all beef patties, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and your special "Latvian Sauce" on a sesame seed bun!

This one's a special one for me. I've wanted to share this idea with everyone for quite some time now and finally got to it this weekend. Every year, I want to start the season off with a Halloween related project and make it a sign for opening night. It gets people smiling and laughing... all part of a great time out at the Oracle!

I'm a BIG X-Men fan and flipping the cover concept to Giant Sized X-Men #1 has been a project I've wanted to work on since I joined GSoM last year. The gang is just about all here:

Monta = Daredevil (since he rode a moped lol)
Brandon Wright = Mr Fantastic (just had to do it!)
Biedrins = Colossus (The X-Men's big man)
Jackson = Wolverine (leadership skills)
Maggette as Ice Man
Harrington as Cyclops (3rd team leader!)

I just wanted to have fun with this and make sure I got it down right. Sometimes life can get so busy you just gotta kick back and have have fun with what you do. Originally, this was a scrapped idea I didn't want to get shelved somewhere in my hard drive. I actually want to blow this up for opening night since it's so close to election day. I thought I'd throw folks off if they couldn't decide between Obama and McCain... "Believe Nellie!" (LOL with Keith Smart as VP!) When I first saw the Obama design by Obey, I already knew that I had to do it for Golden State and who better than our coach, Don Nelson. November 4th is a very important election and I encourage you all to do your thing and vote...

... October 29th is opening season for the Dubz, we all gotta "Believe" in something!

It's become a tradition now here at GSoM to remix everyone's favorite sports title NBA 2K9 for the Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3. No disrespect to KG for making the cover, but this is my chance to give back a little extra something to the fans of Golden State and gamers down with 2K Sports using my nifty Photoshop skills. Last season I went all out with a new alternate cover, side bars and back page. This year, since I'm working multiple design projects with various clients, I had to focus mainly on the cover.

If you want to use it for your own copy, simply download the file below and print it to your deskjet printer (or FedEx Kinko's!). The file size is set to dvd packaging standards and should print on 8.5x11 paper. As you know, high resolution pics of our players are hard to come by on the web so I respectively toyed around with the wallpaper images on the Warriors website. (This cover is for promotional use only)

As for the cover concept, from the start, I wanted Monta featured on the cover. I actually wanted to feature some of our new players as well, but my resources were limited in finding legitimate pics. So I went with the 3 guys I look forward to watching every game. Although Jackson isn't featured on the cover, I wanted to make more use of Harrington since I didn't use him too much last season. Also, I wanted to do a jam cover of players instead of a single icon for a change. I also dig the "We believe" Yellow in the backdrop... it's very Golden State!

The NBA 2K series has been more than just a game, it's a lifestyle for me and my friends. While I don't play it much online anymore, for the past 6 years, my friends and I prefer battling at each other's house over some cold brews, tasty pizzas and good company. Which is why it's so hard for us to make the switch over to NBA Live. Enjoy!
