Long gone are the days of waiting for the morning paper to read about your favorite teams, or get a look at the box score. Things are very different now. Not only do you have much faster access to the old standards, like the beat writers employed by the major papers, but you also have waaaaaay more content to wade through as a sports fan. From the pro writers you have their Twitter feed, their blogs, and their articles published online. Then you have video interviews of the players and coaches available the same night as the game, and the highlights of course. Then you've got all of the great fan created content here at SBN and elsewhere around the world wide weberdoodle. There is heaps and heaps of stuff out there for the modern sports fan. The only hard part is knowing where to look for the best content. One of the reason's I fell in love with this site back in '07 was not only all the great original content, but that it acts as a hub for Warriors, and NBA news.

So for days when the game just wasn't enough torture for you, or even when there wasn't a game on at all, check out IQofaWarrior's great links posts for all the best Warriors content from all four corners of the inter-earth and stay connected. I've never really had a good friend who was as into NBA basketball nearly as much as I was. Some have shown some passing interest, or hopped on board the 'We Believe' bandwagon briefly, but for the most part if I wanted to watch a game with fans as enthusiastic as I was, it would mean a trip up 880 for tickets and overpriced parking, or a search for a sports bar in the South Bay that wasn't showing the Sharks game instead. That's how it was until I found Golden State of Mind. Suddenly there was always a friendly and fun group of Warriors fans there to watch the game with. It was like finding that perfect dive bar that's walking distance from your house, has a great group of regulars, and always has the game on.

It's been somewhat of a pop culture meme for at least as long as I've been around that the kind of folks that follow and participate in sports aren't the same type of people that are into technology. You know the stereotypes. The Nerd - The Jock. The teacher's aid in the computer lab - the captain of the football team. But despite the fact that we've been told from a young age that only a bite from a radioactive spider can change the geeky kid into a pro wrestler and star of the basketball team (not to mention masked crime-fighter), the webs of technology and sports have never been more intertwined.

You needn't look any further than this very website to see how technology can enhance the way you experience sports. And thanks to the good people over at Samsung, over the next three weeks I'm going to take a look at a few ways that these two worlds collide to make my life as a sports fan better than ever.
