GSOM Night is a night when many of the good people of the Golden State of Mind community attend a game together at a discounted price and also receive a free giveaway (usually a t-shirt designed by Tony.psd!), watch courtside shootaround before the game, and enter a raffle for free memorabilia and tickets. For the past 2 years, we've held an event on Opening Night. This year we'll do the same. It's becoming a GSOM tradition. Ding dong - the Jazz are dead! Which ol' Jazz? The Utah Jazz!...

They may have snuck on through to avoid the broom from L.A., but in the end it was nothing more than a moral victory. The Lakers are movin' on up to play the winner of the Portland/Houston series.

On the slightly more exciting end, looks like Atlanta really stepped it up in Miami to grab their first playoff road win in 12 years! With the series now tied at 2-2, the series that no one initially cared about is... um... still a series that no one really cares about. The eventual winner gets to move on to a mollywhopping by Lebron James and those other guys that wear the same outfit as him every game.

And then there was Denver versus New Orleans. Holy crap that was brutal.

"That's it. I'm going to the Warriors."

 121 to 63?!!! Chalk it up in the record books as the greatest postseason beatdown. Ever. With this stomping, New Orleans has their back up against the wall, facing elimination in this now 3-1 series.

BOOM! 3 for 3 on my picks. I AM AN NBA GOD!!!!

Okay fine - yesterdays games were about as predictable as they come (call it a coin toss on the Portland-Houston matchup). The only real question with the Lakers/Jazz and Cavs/Pistons series' are whether or not these two powerful 1 seeds are going to break out their brooms and sweep their opponents under the rug.

Anyone else smelling sweep?

Today's matchups, however, may better host a bit more of that oh-so-cherished often seen characteristic that we have come to know and love in the NBA Playoffs.

Volatility.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a time for us to celebrate just how far this nation has come in realizing Dr. King's dream of unity. It's also an opportunity to reflect and think about what we all need to do together to fully attain that goal. We've come a long way and have a long way to go. We just have to believe we'll get there.

To celebrate this beautiful day in the Bay your friends at GSoM will be watching today's matinee festivity at Roaracle between the Golden State Warriors and the Washington Wizards alongside 100 young Warriors fans and their friends/ family.  GSoM would like to give a golden welcome to the good people at:

Today is the last day to get your GSOM Night 5 tickets for tomorrow's opening night game featuring your Golden State Warriors against one of the West's elite, the New Orleans Hornets.

Unfortunately, since the t-shirts have been purchased and printed already, you won't be getting a free t-shirt but at the very least you'll get a discount on the face value of a ticket to the game - just one of the perks of purchasing through GSOM.

I'm excited to get this season underway, it's been a long time since we had any meaningful Warrior games. Are you ready for the 2008-2009 Warriors season?

As you may know, GSOM Night 5 happens on opening night this year against the New Orleans Hornets. I've already given you the basic info and 5 Reasons to Attend, now I'm dropping the t-shirt that Tony.psd designed.

There are still tickets left but to guarantee that you receive a t-shirt, you have to order by October 19. Chris Murphy and the Warriors have made it super easy to order your tickets - just order them online.

I'm pumped for opening night despite my reservations of the team. It'll be my first chance to see Corey Maggette on the court not tearing up the Warriors, Ronny Turiaf annoying the other team's fans, Stephen Jackson in his new role, and all the young guys step up their game in the absence of Monta and Baron. There's really no night like Opening Night. Hopefully the Warriors organization blows it out and does something great for the fans.

As always, since me and the rest of the crew will be handing out the t-shirts, I'm looking forward to meeting as many of you at opening night as I can.

GSOM Night is coming back for the upcoming season. I've been working with Chris Murphy, Warriors group ticket sales rep, to keep the GSOM Nights coming and get us some good deals. We're trying to line up 3 GSOM Nights. The first will be on opening night, Wednesday, October 29 vs the New Orleans Hornets. The next 2 are under discussion. We'll start selling tickets as soon as we strike a deal with the Warriors.

If you don't know what GSOM Night is, it's a GSOM event where we get a deal on tickets through the Warriors to invite the entire GSOM community to a Warriors game. If you buy tickets through us, you get a free t-shirt, get entered in a raffle for tickets, signed memorabilia, etc, and basically hang out with a bunch of your fellow community members. We always have a great time no matter what the score of the game.
