Introducing... Feltbot!

Just like the rest of the GSoM Crew, you're probably well aware of the masterful craftiness of Feltbot. You've witnessed his guest recaps on GSoM and Feltbot's Warriors blog. So naturally we asked the good man to join our growing and unstoppable band of hoops junkies. Here's how it went when Fantasy Junkie and I tried to get Feltbot to join our writing staff...

AB1: "Feltbot! Felbot-tronics! Felt-botanical gardens! Join our golden crew and as we say over here in Dubs land, you'll have a great time out!"

FJ: "Plus we've got fly threads! I mean you saw our retro GSoM Night 7 jerseys. Just wait till you see what we've got in store for GSoM Night 8!"

Feltbot: "This is all very true and sounds exactly like the kind of exciting, labor intensive, low paying gig I've been searching for all my life! I'm in. BUT...

AB1: "But what?

Feltbot: "I'll only join the crew if you two jokers beat me in a game of poker."

FJ: "Ummm, this shouldn't be too hard. I mean AB1 and I are the masters of fantasy sports. Poker? Psshhh... we got this!"

AB1: <whispers to FJ: "Are you nuts?!">

Introducing Poor Man's Commish!

Drmlg_logo-gmail_medium

Ready for more hoops insight from one of the best hoops evaluators I know? From knowing whether a guy needs to do more squats to improve his defensive stance to predicting the first Asian American player in the NBA to fixing the release on a jump shot, Poor Man's Commish is all about basketball. He's a hoops junkie and the commissioner of Dream League, the largest Bay Area recreational basketball league (thus the moniker Poor Man's Commish). The hours upon hours upon hours over many years of basketball observation gives him a unique insight into what makes players special. If you want to check out some of his analysis, he's written numerous fan posts with the bulk of it breaking down the Summer League and its players.

For GSoM, he's going to contribute in much the same way the rest of the GSoM staff does by writing articles on hoops (Warriors and NBA in general) and writing recaps, but he'll also continue his Summer League scouting and jump start the GSoM Twitter account, unstoppablebaby.

We're defintely excited to bring Poor Man's Commish onto the team. If you want to check out more of what he's done, go to his blog, Poor Man's Commish. It's my pleasure to have another top notch writer contribute to the site, so please welcome Poor Man's Commish as the newest writer to the unstoppableness that is Golden State of Mind!

The Boom Tho Mixtape is coming! Rod Benson shows GSoM some love on the mic

He hails from sunny San Diego. He balled up fools on the regular at Haas Pavilion at Cal (check California Golden Blogs). He's easily my favorite D-League balla. He's an author-extraordinaire over at the world famous Ball Don't Lie. He and J Gant are the masterminds behind the Boom Tho Movement. In case you haven't heard... Boom Got Them Dos!

Ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for... Rod BensonOur longtime blog buddy is dropping a mixtape appropriately titled The Boom Tho Mixtape very soon and thanks to Rod we scored an exclusive sneak peak.

Boom-tho_medium

After the jump we've got one of the freshest cuts off the album called "Internet Dominance" for your listening pleasure. Towards the end of the cut the mighty GSoM even gets a shout out!

Introducing... JAE! (Plus JAE's Report Card for the 2008-2009 Golden State Warriors)

It hasn't been an easy season for Dubs faithful. In case you haven't heard WE BELIEVE IS DEAD. The silver lining for the WE SUCK era is that Golden State of Mind managed to rack up a ton of super lotto balls in the first annual NBA Blogger Draft Lottery.

Blogger-draft-lottery_medium

WE SUCK has its benefits.

The blogger super lotto was held this past Monday morning at the Four Seasons Hotel in East Palo Alto, CA. You might have missed it as it was only televised on NBATV2, which many households unfortunately still don't get. It's really too bad because there was some great news my golden people.

Proving that the GSoM community is nothing short of "Unstoppable Baby!" we won the lottery! I couldn't be any happier with our grand prize. Make the jump and I'll tell you what we've all won...

Crazy kids and their..."techmology" - Hit us up on FaceBook!

Remember back in the good ol' days when technology was simple?  Need some light?  Light a candle.  Need some warm food?  Start a fire.  Cold?  Put on more clothes.  Got nothing to do?  Read a nice book.  Feeling lonely?  Write a letter to a good friend.

Ah yes...life was so simple back in the day.

We here at GSoM are trying long and hard to stay up with these kids and their newest technologies.  It's hard though, really hard.  With the addition of the internet, online blogging, and other such things...we simple don't know where to begin.  In fact, believe it or not, we even got a shot out in Da Ali G show.

That's right, we don't even have a Tele.  Check out the website yo.

www.goldenstateofmind.com

But alas, with the ever-growing technology boom, we have no option but to keep up. Now in 2k9, all of the responses to those earlier questions have drastically changed.

Need some light?  Clap your hands twice and the magic "Clapper" flips on the switch.  Need some warm food?  Toss it in the microwave on "HIGH" for 1 minute.  Cold?  Toss on your Snuggie - The Blank With Sleeves!  Got nothing to do?  Go browse the internet for such high quality sites like FML, texts from last night, or this is why you're fat.  Feeling lonely?  Um...you could...ya know...I mean...
