Polling GSoM: Should the Warriors pick up Brandan Wright's 4th year option?
One story line that has gone relatively under the radar in Dubs Land is that the Warriors have yet to pick up Brandan Wright's 4th year rookie option. The team has until October 31st to make their decision, but I"m little surprised that they haven't made a decision already. Is there really anything in training camp or the preseason that is going to change their mind? I guess you can't fault them for playing it safe, but it'd be nice to send a clear message roughly a month before the season that a) they have faith in him or b) he better make big improvements in his game or he should start packing his bags like Patrick O'Bryant.

Polling GSoM: Warriors sign Mikki Moore - Who's got better hair?

You all said we didn't make any offseason moves.
The ex-Celtic, ex-Net, ex-Sactown King, ex-man he was on a ton of teams and I don't want to list them all, is now joining our squad.

Polling GSoM: Which forward should have a better career based on their first two seasons in the NBA?
These blind taste tests seem be at the very worst interesting to a lot of GSoMers, so let's try another one to pass by some of the dullest moments of the NBA offseason. Here's the stats per 36 of these two forwards' first two seasons with the Warriors with their personal highs bolded:
Forward A
- Rookie Season: 14.5 ppg (55.4% FG, 67.5% FT), 9.5 rpg, 0.9 apg (1.2 tov), 2.1 blk, 0.6 stl
- Sophomore Season: 16.9 ppg (52.8% FG, 74.1% FT), 8.2 rpg, 1.1 apg (1.2 tov), 1.9 blk, 1.2 stl
Forward B
- Rookie Season: 17.0 ppg (52.4% FG, 81.0% FT), 8.0 rpg, 1.0 apg (2.7 tov), 1.0 blk, 0.5 stl
- Sophomore Season: 19.9 ppg (53.0% FG, 79.5% FT), 10.2 rpg, 0.8 apg (2.9 tov), 1.8 blk, 0.4 stl

Polling GSoM: Which of these injured players was Baron Davis in 2008-2009?
After being hailed as the Clips' hometown savior, Baron Davis had an absolutely dismal performance last season. Equally dismal (probably more so) was the post- Boom Dizzle Golden State Warriors campaign. The mythically great future guaranteed with up-and-comers Brandan Wright ("his per 36 numbers mean he's going to blowup in 2k8-2k9!"), Andris Biedrins ("top 5, top 10, top something center!"), and Monta Ellis ("leader and superstar in the making!") reminded me of that old Public Enemy track- "Don't Believe the Hype". All the "promise" of the vets on this team Corey Maggette ("he keeps himself in far better shape than the injury-prone Boom Dizzle and will be a better influence on Monta!") and Stephen Jackson ("the Warriors started 1-6 in 2k7-2k8 while he was suspended- imagine if he was playing!") also reminded me of another classic P.E. joint- "Can't Truss It."
But let's focus on today's topic and that's about perceptions about injuries, games missed, and what really happened during the 2008-2009 Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers seasons. (Okay you probably know- a whole lotta suck!)

Polling GSoM: Are you going to miss Rob Kurz?
SAY IT AIN'T SO!!
Rob Kurz is NOT going to be resigned by the Warriors (Contra Costa Times) and he is looking to new teams.
Rob Kurz won't be back with the Warriors. An unrestricted free agent, Kurz is trying to catch on with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Polling GSoM: Was Billy Owens a "monumental NBA bust"?
Over at Y! Sports Blog The Dagger they're counting down "the best college basketball players who went on to have disappointing NBA careers". As one would expect there's going to be at least one Warrior on the list. At #7 there's Billy Owens who is deemed a "monumental NBA bust" and is ridiculed for being out of the NBA by the age of 31.
Not the finest, but not a "monumental NBA bust". [via www.checkoutmycards.com]
Don't get me wrong. That trade that sent Mitch Richmond up north to Sacrapmento and broke up Run TMC is not going to be making any Dubs highlight reels anytime soon. Undoubtedly Owens was a great college player who went on to have a really disappointing NBA career- he didn't live up to the hype. But I'm not so sure calling Owens a "monumnetal NBA bust" is fair. Check his numbers over at Basketball Reference and jump for some facts and more!
