The Last Warrior

Q: Who was the last Warrior to make the All Star team?

Q: Who was the last Warrior to make the All-NBA First team?

Q:?Who was the last Warrior to make an All-NBA Defensive team?

Q:?Who was the last Warrior to be named MVP of the McDonald's High School Game?

A:

Latrell Fontaine Sprewell
in 1994

Things were going so well for Spree in Oakland that he even had enough money to feed his family back then!

Also see:

It's been 12 years since the Warriors had a player (not representation- see Question & Answer) in the All Star game. Who do you think will be the next Warrior to make the All Star team? Jason Richardson? Baron Davis? Troy Murphy actually might have a great chance if he's listed as a center. Remember the West is stacked. The next Warrior All Star might not even be on the current roster.

jrich
hes way overlooked...but then again hes a some competition in the SG or even SF category.  I thought he should of been an allstar last year, he put up great numbers.  PLUS who else can dunk like him, everyone would love to see that in an All Star game.

Davis
Surprised? ya, me too that I'm even suggesting it because he's nowhere near the top of my list of GS players in terms of leadership, etc. And JRich is the obvious choice, but to djchuckdeez's points above JR doesn't get the recognition and competition is even stiffer at the SG/SF. Davis can turn around a whole career's worth of doubting-Thomases with an outstanding season now - maybe not for this AS game, but if he continued it all season, he'd be there the next.

I can't celebrate Sprewell
As much as I loved the guy at first, he proved himself to be a low-life of the worst kind. He's a blight on Warriors' history -- WORSE THAN DUNLEAVY!!!

Coach Nelson
If the Warriors do well, I could see Don Nelson being the coach of the West All-Star Team. Being an All-Star is a bit of a popularity contest, as fans worldwide vote. Yao has gotten the most votes for a few years, although I'm not trying to say Yao don't got game.

And although the West is stacked, I think JRich and Baron CAN compete with Ray Allen and Tony Parker (All-Stars last year) as being All-Stars this year.

Also, I'm pulling for Ike and Monta to play well and make it to the Rookie/Soph game.

agreed
JRich and BDavis make up the most explosive back-court in the NBA -- when they're firing on all cylinders. I have a feeling Nelson's going to help them realize their full potential together and when they do, nobody's gonna remember who Ray Allen and Tony Parker were.

Wow.
The Warriors would have to be doing REALLY well for Nelson to be coach of the all-stars.  The head coach of the all-stars is the coach whose team has the best record in the conference before the all-star break.  Unless that coach coached the all stars the year before, then it's the 2nd best record.
