GSoM Radio Interview!!

You've officially made it big time if you run a Golden State Warriors site and get interviewed on a well known radio show with an ultra-popular host. So it looks like Atma and I will have to wait on the big time status and settle for almost big time. Anyways, we really did get interviewed on the radio station Jazzbeat Radio about the Golden State Warriors and Golden State of Mind. The show actually aired this past Saturday but you probably wouldn't have been able to hear it anyways because of the radio station's weak signal. Also, keep in mind that the interview was done before the season started. Let me apologize in advance for some of the quiet audio which was a result of having to share a mic.

So you're probably wondering how and why Jazzbeat Radio. No it's not a radio station about the Utah Jazz. We actually know the DJ, Boku Kodama, who hosts one of the segments on the show. He's fun to talk to, grew up in The City as a Warriors fan, and definitely knows his hoops. Boku also runs the non-profit Urban VOICE which describes itself as:

Urban VOICE is a video production group of independent filmmakers, artists, writers and concerned global citizens taking ideas on social justice issues and creating workable video projects that inform and empower its participants and viewers to take action for the common good. Our two focuses are the remarkable stories of everyday people in the context of historical events and personal stories in the context of social justice issues.

So, check out Urban VOICE when you get the chance then download the file, sit back and enjoy one hour with your boys, Atma and FJ, on the radio.

Listen to the clip (40 MB).

Definitely let us know what you think about our first time on the radio.

Atma - just a comment.

You have the habit of ending every sentence with a high vocal inflection?  Like every statement you make is a question?  When it's really just a statement?

it's a little 'off-putting' after listening to an entire 50 min of it.  but hey, i listened to it by my own free will.  not hatin, just observatin.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I was just too laid back (my personality) and statements came out like questions. That's a really helpful tip.

Hope our sound quality/ weak mics didn't make it too difficult to listen too either.

Special thanks to Boku Kodama and Jazzbeat Radio for having us on!

good job guys
yep good looking out fellas! I am curious though...at the time this interview was taped Triple Singles was playing the "point forward" and Murph was playing center and you all were a bit skeptical of that (with good reason). But now that Nellie has basically put Singles on the bench and moved Beans into the starting lineup..and we have seen the results. Are you a bit more optimistic about this team as it currently exists?

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.

Hmmm...
I don't know about Fantasy Junkie, but I still see this as a .500 ball club if everyone stays healthy which may or may not be good enough to get you in as the 8th seed in the West. BUT I'm really banking on some trades (no inside info on that one, just a hunch- hey I'm honest!). Hopefully they can get 45 wins with the right moves.

Better than 500?
Hey Bro!  I think we should be a little better than 500? Last year we played over 500 till the injuries and poor coaching decisions took their toll.  So...we should be at least as good as last year when everyone is healthy. Monta with a year of experience can balance the loss of DFish, pietrus looks like he's getting his head into the game a bit better, Ike is a sophmore now so should contribute, Barnes looks like a good addition for energy, roberson for spot shooting, dunleavey might be learning to play a good role in relief, etc. We've got one of the best guard combos in Baron and JRich and murphy is solid at PF. The only weak spot seems to be center where we've got  young biedrins and N-POB a rookie backing up a sophmore! If biedrins goes down we will be hurting unless coach gets foyle into some games to tune up. Maybe he's trying to import another big man but I can't think of many that other teams would want to give up that would be any better than TheDonal?
There's 7 teams(Houston,Clips, Utah,Suns,Mavs,Spurs,Lakers) that look like a lock but the 8th spot is a toss-up that we have as much chance as anyone to claim and who knows, maybe one of the 7 will crash so we could get #7 spot?
