OPEN THREAD: GAME #13- Warriors @ Nuggets

warriors@nugg.jpeg

Warriors (W-L): 7-5

Nuggets (W-L): 6-4

Time: 6:00PM PST

TV: FSN Bay Area

Radio: KNBR 1050

Even though the Warriors lost another close one to the Nuggets in their UCLA wannabe away jerseys this past Wednesday at The Oracle Arena, Warriors Nation still has a lot to be thankful for. Let's hope the fellas didn't eat too much turkey and stuffing last night because they're going to need all the energy they can muster up to avoid getting run in that Mile High altitude.

The only reason the Warriors were able to stay in the game last time around against the Nuggets was the impressive turnovers (Jason Richardson with 4 steals, Baron Davis and Monta Ellis with 3 each, and Andris Biedrins had an impressive 7 block effort). It's tough to bank on that same intensity and results on the road especially in the Mile High City. This game is going to come down to the glass which has been a major problem for the Warriors pretty much the whole season. Ike Diogu is out tonight, so it's not going to get any easier against the Nuggets' front line this evening. Still, it's time to bust out a bottle of this...

Probably resting up
Tomorrow is going to be tough against the Jazz at home tomorrow night. They need BD 100% if they're going to have any chance. It's a good decision.

Mike Dunleavy will start
Looks like Dunleavy will start tonight. That's too bad, I think he's much better off the bench against the other team's 2nd lineup. It's going to be a long night if he has to guard Melo. Haha, actually it really doesn't matter- the Warriors don't have any one who can guard Carmelo Anthony.

Another starting lineup for the Warriors!
MP2
Dun
Murph
JRich
Monta

Versus

Melo
Najera
Camby
JR Smith
Andre Miller

I would've thought Nellie would open up with Biedrins. He's been the Warriors' best rebounder this season.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:11 PM PST reply actions

Uh-oh
Baron Davis will probably miss a few games with that rib injury.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:12 PM PST reply actions

Murph + Dun Poor on Defense so far
Very poor effort and movement. They're just making it easy down low on the zone.

I'm pretty curious why Biedrins didn't start. Injury?

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:17 PM PST reply actions

Najera with 8 Already?
He's just KILLING Murphy and Dunleavy.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:18 PM PST reply actions

Warriors look tired
This is just too easy for the Nugs.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:23 PM PST reply actions

Subs...
Dun and Murphy out. Biedrins and Barnes in.

PLUS! Earl Boykins!

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:27 PM PST reply actions

End of 1st Warriors down by 1- 34-35
Good run by the Warriors to close out the quarter. It could've gotten ugly fast, but Nellie made the right subs bringing in Barnes and Biedrins. Good coaching.

Lazy passes aren't gonna work against the Nuggs
Dunleavy has to make crisper, smarter decisions with the ball. Those 2 turnovers were unnecessary.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:50 PM PST reply actions

Biedrins = BIG TIME
Andris is a big reason the Warriors are in this game.

Pietrus out?
MP2 headed to the locker room. Warriors really short on players tonight.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 6:53 PM PST reply actions

Pietrus back!
They're gonna need some running and dunking from him.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 7:01 PM PST reply actions

End of the 1st Half Denver up 11
Warriors 60
Nuggets 71

That's a LOT of points folks!

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 7:12 PM PST reply actions

Pietrus out for the night
Stomach flu.

Very limited roster tonight for the Warriors.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 7:31 PM PST reply actions

Finally stopped Melo
on that last drive.

He's going to keep getting his, so the team has to stop the rest of the Nuggets to have any chance tonight.

Keep working the ball through Biedrins so we can see things open up with spacing!

nice dunk monta!
that was sweet, on an otherwise sour night

Biedrins with some nice offensive moves tonight
He's showing me new things down low on the offensive side.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 7:47 PM PST reply actions

Ouch
Carmelo at the buzzer when Biedrins lazily tossed it out, assuming the shot clock violation.

by back2back51s on Nov 24, 2006 7:54 PM PST reply actions

yeah
definately a tough game to watch.

by travisl212 on Nov 24, 2006 10:50 PM PST up reply actions

Another bad pass
Dunleavy threw it into 3 Nuggets. Overall the passing is really sloppy. That Biedrins pass that led to a Melo bucket to end the 3rd (see back2back51s above) typifies the night.

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 7:59 PM PST reply actions

Foyle
Is going to get 6 more mins of PT on the season?!

Denver looks like Phoenix out there, getting to the bucket at will and hardly missing shots- being very efficient with each posession.

by back2back51s on Nov 24, 2006 8:11 PM PST reply actions

POB taking
19 foot fadeaways, 22 foot set shots.

You're no Dirk, get something inside to get on the stat sheet!

by back2back51s on Nov 24, 2006 8:18 PM PST reply actions

Yeah no kidding
It looks like he's screwing around like it's practice... or maybe that just his offensive game/ style?

by Atma Brother ONE on Nov 24, 2006 8:19 PM PST up reply actions

is it just me
or does weakass "P.O.B." S-U-C-K

big guys..
completley unrelated but sort of related at the sametime. when i played jv bball my soph. year in h.s., there was returning jr. on the team who became the captain by default. he was a 6'5 F (anything over 6'3 usually meant you were a f or c at my school) who had the habit of pretending to be the pg, usually trying to go coast to coast, only to get picked worse than little kids' noses on the regular. The coach would then usually yell at him in front of us for his antics, usually just provoking him to prove to the team he was was 'versatile.' my take is that big guys are jealous of the wing players and guards cuz they get all the shine... jp

yeah theyre jelous

it was pretty ugly tonight
without baron they really aren't anything.  so many turnovers.  monta is a nice player but isn't ready to be the man.  j rich is looking better but not yet.  andris played very well but he has his limits.  that was probably the most boring game ive ever seen where the teams have been in the 130's and 140's wow.  we need to play defense too.
