OPEN THREAD: GAME #14- Warriors vs. Jazz

Warriors (W-L): 7-6
Jazz (W-L): 12-1
Time: 7:30PM PST
TV: FSN Plus - Bay Area
Radio: KNBR 680
Folks, this might get ugly. Wait, did I say ugly? History shows us that we will get spanked tonight. However, you never know with this team. One day I expect them to win and then they lose and when I expect them to lose, they win. That is why I would count on the Warriors winning. They always seem to play well against the top teams. The Utah Jazz visit The Oracle coming off an 8 game winning streak and the best record in the league at 12 and 1. With an impressive win over the Lakers last night, we are hoping they might be a little slower tonight with this being the 2nd game of their back to back. Things might be difficult since our Warriors are in the same boat being tossed around by the Nuggets last night in Denver. Playing very little defense, the Warriors allowed 140 points last night and lost back to back games against the Nuggets.
The Warriors are on a 3 game losing streak and might end up at .500 if they don't show up to play tonight. I think Nellie might be able to pull something out of his hat. I'm not sure if Baron will be ready to play but let's hope Ellis can bounce back from a poor performance and run circles around the Jazz.
I HAVE FAITH! Am I the only one?
Vegas Odds: Warriors favored by 2? Um how is that possible?
Predictions:
* Warriors win by 2
* Ellis bounces back with a double double.
* Boozer torches Biedrins.
* JRich scores 24.
* Jazz out rebound Warriors by 8+.
* GSoM gets on TV. Atma, FJ, and I will be at the game! We'll lead the cheering section when the Warrior Girls take the court.
Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.

call me crazy but...
Jazz have to lose sometime right? Why can't it be the Warriors? The Kings had them on the ropes a couple games ago, but couldn't close them out in the 4th.
Last time the two played, the Warriors were a very different team. Even though it was just a few weeks ago, the team looks very different. Expect the Warriors to get some payback.

Congrats from Sactown!
I'm SOOOOO glad GSW took apart the Jazz. It was due. Congrats!!!! I'm still in therapy over the Kings letting them go (choking miserably).
Good luck with the Spurs tonight! I think Manu is out which will lower the flop-o-meter spikes. Gee...wonder how he got the bad back? Hey, if you guys can take out the Jazz and break their streak you can also take out the Spurs and kill their perfect away record.

Hmph.
Warriors are going back to .500. 115-105 Jazz. The Warriors simply don't match up well. We would need a STELLAR game to win. And I mean STELLAR.

Thoughts on the Warriors Zone Defense
- By playing zone, this kept Murphy and Biedrins down low near the paint the entire game to make sure there were at least 2 big men rebounding every Jazz shot. So if Okur steps out for a 3, either JRich, Barnes, or Monta guards him and Biedrins/Murphy aren't sucked out of the middle.
- Also, if the ball comes down low and one of their big men is posting Biedrins or Murphy, either JRich or Barnes can double down on the ball creating more turnovers.
- The entire team was really active tonight on defense. I thought they all did a great job of playing TEAM defense, even Murphy. They got into the passing lanes for steals (22 Jazz turnovers!), helped out in the post for some blocked shots, closed out on the shooters, and in general hustled all over the place for loose balls and rebounds.
- Did Nellie figure out how to beat the Jazz? 4 starters, Boozer, Kirilenko, Okur, and Brewer had 4 points each. The zone worked great causing the normally well discplined Utah team, looked sloppy. It looked like they had never faced a zone before. What I thought they were going to do was let Deron Williams shoot more 3's since he has a nice stroke and bring some shooters off the bench to break the Warriors out of the zone.

I have a feeling
I am anxious to see how they do against Parker and Duncan. This could be a nightmare situation. The Nuggets got into the lane with ease yesterday and Parker is much quicker than anyone on the Nugz. If we collapse on him, that will leave Duncan open all day right near the hoop. It will be good to see how Biedrens can guard Duncan because he was a difference maker today down low. The Jazz looked as if they were scared to drive the hoop near the end.

Manufactured
It's hard to tell how talented Danity Kane really is though. I mean their production is just so top notch. Haha, with those beats and producers even I could have a chart topping single!
I gotta say that last season of Making the Band was just such a weird, happy-go-lucky 6 or 7 short episodes. You can tell from the previews that they edited it like crazy to make them look drama-free.
Oooh, everybody get DJ Fuzzy Logic to do a Danity Kane Meets GSW! Haha, just like the Grey's Anatomy meets GSW classic: http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/story/2006/7/10/9169/99653
