According to sports illustrated truth & rumors who is quoting the boston globe this morning:

According to a league source, Golden State is the front-runner for Allen Iverson's services, offering a package that would include guard Baron Davis and a couple of young players. According to another league source, the Celtics remain on the list of teams in contention for Iverson, along with Minnesota, Indiana, Chicago, Denver, Charlotte, Sacramento, Dallas, and the Clippers.

Baron for AI?

Would not make us much different, probably worse sinc eBaron already knows Nellies plays. I'd only trade for AI if we could get him for Dun, Foyle, Monta and maybe Zarko for salary cap reasons. Not worth it if they want Baron or Jason.

Paul Pierce says Davis would be upset...

As you all know, BD grew up in Compton with the rapper "The Game" and also was friends with Paul Pierce. Paul Pierce was asked what he thinks would happen if BD was moved to Philly and here's Pierce's response:

"He would be upset if that happened," said Pierce about Davis being traded to the Sixers. "Going to Philadelphia? He's a California guy all the way."

Poor BD! He's a West Coast balla I hope we don't have to lose him but I want AI!!!

LAST NIGHT THE SIXERS WERE SENDING AI TO CHARLOTTE...

BUT A.I. made them stop the deal.

he probably called MJ and told him he wouldn't be happy. I guess I understand his point of view, that's a new team not going anywhere, whereas teams like the W's have talent and an all time great coach.

That would actually be a sweet gig for him, he lives in ATL so would be close to home. AI could make charlotte a pretty good team.

his bet bet is to try and get traded to minnesota and work with Garnett. Can Iverson offer to lower his contract so Minnesota can afford him?

Ugh

The Whomevers who grumbled about guys standing around watching Baron be Baron are going to have a REALLY good time coming up with ways to describe what the guys are doing when they're standing around watching AI. A disaster in the making here.

hell no.

If there's one player on this team that we need, is irreplacable, it's Baron Davis. He's an all-star PG (so is AI), but he's a better passer, and shoots less. A lot of biedrin's offense, and Monta's development will be lost if we get rid of B-Diddy. And where are we in 4 years? with our PG 35 and going downhill, and an undeveloped back-up in Monta.

I love Allen Iverson, and the thought of him in a W's jersey is just so exciting....but I really don't think there is anyway that trading for him could be beneficial to the Warriors...
