Rumor: Ric Bucher Says Warriors Out of Running for Allen Iverson

Rich Bucher for ESPNews is reporting that the Golden State Warriors are no longer in the running for Allen Iverson. You know the saying- it's not over till the Commish brings back the old ball. Oh wait!

Seriously though, it ain't over till it's over. Stay tuned...

Thanks to the good folks at I Heart KG for passing this tip along to us.

wow
So much hope/anger gone away.  I was hoping the warriors would do something but I did not want to part ways with other players.  When was this reported?
Playoffs!!??

This is all bad...
Now that Mullin and Co. did not pull the trigger, how do you think Baron and J-Rich feel about being dangled as Trade Bait? I can guarantee you one thing, NONE OF THEM ARE HAPPY ABOUT IT. Mullin and Co. has failed once again. Why let us suffer more?

LOL
Mullin strikes out again!  STRIKE 3!

artest, harrington and now iverson

I don't get this
Why do people who are against this trade say we should trade for a big man?  Guess what...I want to trade for Yao, but it ain't happening.  If you can provide a list of big men out that are actively being shopped by their team, then I would like to see it.

The reason we get worked up about guys like AI, Artest (and I guess Harrington) is because their teams are actively shopping them and it's inevitable that they will be traded.  It's not like Elton Brand is available and we are choosing to focus on Iverson instead.  Therefore it's pointless to say forget AI, let's get x when x is never available (unless we are talking about Chris Wilcox).

Sooner or later...
Baron or J-Rich will demand a trade too after this failed attempt to get rid of them. The only thing is we won't get nothing back if they requests to be traded. Probably draft picks at best! I think its time to start the Fire Mullin chants.

Good
Guards who chuck? Check. We got em.

Guards who can take anyone off the dribble? Yup, got them too.

A tough, inside presence? Nope, we ain't got it.
This is a good non-move. AI would be a sideways step at best.

As for BD, J-Rich, and Monta's possibly hurt feelings, I hope that these guys are professionals and realize this kind of stuff is part of the game.

Where's the link to what Bucher said?
Why are we not in the running?

It was on TV
It was on TV, but I didn't see it myself. The good people at I Heart KG passed it on to us (as noted). I was hoping someone in the community could fill in the specifics, but from what I gather there wasn't anything really of substance said.

I looked for an online report or transcript too and couldn't find it. I'll keep looking of course.

Man, that's harsh
We're just trying to keep everyone updated with the latest.

Don't worry- if you're a frequenter to GSoM you know that rumors are only a tiny percentage of what we do here.

Hash has the usual phat preview/ open thread for tonight's matchup against the Kings coming up, plus his usual entertaining recap to follow.

Keep it locked!

Hey now!
You don't need to make excuses, AB1. Thanks for the updates. Geez...how often in a season do you get to see a trade like this??? Chat it up!

I feel your pain...
I know your upset but there's other avenues to let out your frustration other than blaming this great website, for example, jumping off the bay bridge.

ATMA
I <3 KG has had no indication of Iverson talks being over on their site. I think you're lieing.

They emailed us
Haha, I doubt TWolves fans are that interested in the latest AI to the Warriors rumors. It was really nice of them to drop us a line.

thank god
well i am happy now, i cant stand iverson, the guy is a jerk

if i were monta i'd be kinda happy

they could have had a superstar but they refused to get rid of you,  thats a good thing to know your team supports you.

and at least monta, baron and jason go to practice.....

BIG BAD
P.J. Brown!

If we had him and Foyle on the court on the same time, no one could even put a toe in the paint.

DOMINATION!

by twelve years on Dec 13, 2006 8:01 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Appreciate the feedback though
We're all learning on how to make this the best place possible, so don't feel shy about making suggestions and requests.
btw AB1 do u have season tickets?

Nope, I wish I did. That's actually one of our goals with this site- to raise enough money for great season tickets to share with the GSoM community. Some day... floor seats!

by Atma Brother ONE on Dec 13, 2006 8:27 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs
