Rumor: Baron Davis, Andris Biedrins, and 3rd Unidentified Player for Allen Iverson and Steven Hunter

Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News cites a deal that's similar to the one we were tipped on this morning:

One of the deals King was strongly considering is with Golden State, for point guard Baron Davis, center Andris Biedrins and a third unidentified player. In addition to Iverson, the Warriors would get backup center Steven Hunter. While a source close to one of the players involved called the deal "done," the Sixers remain quiet about where they will be sending Iverson.

...

Earlier in trade talks, Golden State had been trying to move veterans with long-term deals, including Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy and Adonal Foyle. But the Sixers asked for Biedrins - a third-year player who turns 21 in April - Monta Ellis or Mickael Pietrus. If the deal with Golden State goes through, it will allow Iverson to play in Don Nelson's freewheeling offensive system. The Warriors feel that Iverson would give them a great chance to get into the playoffs for the first time since 1994.

It's getting interesting- I mean really, REALLY interesting. The Warriors seem to be incredibly active in pursuing Allen Iverson. I have to hand it to them. Chris Mullin, Rod Higgins, and Don Nelson must see something they really like. Even if the Iverson dealings don't materialize I give them major props having a vision.

Special thanks to loyal GSoM community members mide d (not beans!) and esco41510 (Uh-Oh...This one scares me!!!!) for spotting this rumor.

in the time it takes to post a comment you can call and voice your opposition

- this trade spiralled from unloading two bad contracts to giving away the cheap young talent.

No thanks

PLEASE!!! NO!!!
Giving away one a young center?  Someone we have not had since Parish?  No!!!  I don't care if it was Gilbert Arenas or some other young All-Star, No.  Biedrins is the best up and coming post player in the league.
Nothing better than "The City".

Not Baron and not Dris
Makes no sense?  We don't need AI that bad. B'Dris shows lots of promise at center, not sure if Hunter would be any better. Baron is playing as good as AI now and is a ca. boy so we should keep him.
If we could get Iverson for Monta or pietrus and a couple of bad contracts then I'd do it but otherwise  NO.

Baron and Biedrins
would give us a better or as good as a chance to win than AI and Steven Hunter with less of a coaching problem. Baron listens and practices + he wants to be here.
