Rumor: Tom Tolbert Says Warriors Out of Allen Iverson Trade Talks

Tom Tolbert aka Mr. T seemed pretty confident during his KNBR show today with Ralph Barbieri that the Golden State Warriors were out of the trade talks for Allen Iverson. During the Los Angeles Lakers- Dallas Mavericks telecast airing right now on ESPN, Tolbert has reiterated these same sentiments. Tolbert obviously has some close ties to the Warriors organization, so his statements should be taken seriously.

After nearly six days of Allen Iverson trade rumors, it's really anyone's guess where AI is going to land. I'm surprised that the Sixers have let it draw out this long. Doesn't seem like the right way to treat your franchise cornerstone of the past decade.

Flipping back through the rumors:

99% of rumors never happen, but 99% of them are fun to talk about!

never know
i feel like its been said 3 times that were out of talks, but then were back in. but, idd really be happy if we are out cuz we were offering way to much for AI, and nelly and him would have clashed badly

Good.
I don't want AI here. He's not going to fix our problems. He's a waste of time and money. We're better off with our shitty contracts.

If you take a look out of your windows, you can now see Dallas, TX. Quite the site, no?

Actually makes sense with todays news...
that Mike Bibby might be packaged to the Clips, and Livingston/Maggette would go to Philly, and AI to Sactown.

It appears that  Billy King is steadfast in his search of a point guard, and if the Warriors would have to trade either Baron Davis or Monta Ellis, I'm not sure this trade makes much sense.

Monta is the younger version of AI, so trading him for a 31 yr old baller, with a 17 million dollar-a year contract wouldn't be prudent -- unless they'll take Adonal Foyle/Mike Dunleavy along with Monta.

Foos
We will be in the trade talks till the last minute. I guarantee you that there will be more rumours tomarrow (unless he's traded right now or something.)

He might just go to Indiana...
As days go by im starting to believe he will be sent   to Indiana as discussed last week. Is it a coincidence that Indiana cannot trade Marquis Daniels until Dec. 15 because of the trade restrictions? Dec. 15 is right around the corner. Who knows...I know the names being dangled were Stephen Jackson, Marquis Daniels and whoever else they want to add to the rumors...lol

thank god
we don't need him, especially with what was being discussed as having to leave to get him

yay
i really think that this would make our team worse, even if we dont make the playoffs this year, we got a solid core of diougu, ellis and biendrins

i mean, once ellis and andris are a little farther along, they will be studs in my view, i think that by the time andris and ellis are 25 (4 years from now) they will be all stars, they have that much upside, and in four years, iverson will be old, run down and probably complaining about something

i cant stand guys that complain like that

iverson is the basketball equivelant to terrel owens

they have mad skills but are horrible teamates, at least baron is a good teamate

i hope iverson goes somewhere and we dont have to worry about this anymore and the warriors can get on playing without worring if they'll be traded

except for foyle, can we please get rid of this guy already!

sorry zorgon

Uh, no
He's got to set the record for longest time spent on one team!

Longest time on one team
"He's got to set the record for longest time spent on one team!"

Better let John Stockton know this, Stockton was at Utah for 18 years which beat out Larry Bird who was at Boston for only 14 years.  Me thinks AI will need to stay at Philly to even get near Stockton's years.
