Rumor: Warriors Offered Baron Davis, but Ready to Drop Out of Allen Iverson Trade Talks

Here's another suggestion that the Warriors are out of the Allen Iverson trade dealings from David Aldridge of the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Today's installment of the Allen Iverson trade saga had the Denver Nuggets exploring an alternate way to obtain the 76ers' all-star guard, and the Golden State Warriors taking a step back and perhaps getting ready to drop out.

...

The source also said the Warriors might be out of the running for Iverson. The West Coast team was believed to have offered guard Baron Davis.

I predict at least 3 Allen Iverson to the Warriors by tomorrow morning! Let's just wait and see...

We are!
But there is no chance of catching the teams ahead of us. They are all like 6 or seven games above .500
All the .500 teams right now are going to duke it out four 8th. Don't know if I like our chances...

keep in mind...
Although the W's have played all these home games,  18/22 of their games have been against the west. Clips are right with us for most games played against the western conference...

All I hope is that
team unity can stay. It is probobly the most important thing to our team, as evidenced when we went to Texas.

what would be the point
of a trade like that? they're too similar for it to be worthwhile

does this mean that
the warriors actually offered baron davis, or that the media is spinning that the sixers asked for davis?

was believed to have offered
i take that to mean that some "reporter" threw it out there to stir up some blog discussions.
there sure have been alot of scenarios out there, especially with mullin and higgins being so tight lipped about this.

Offering Baron was a reach...
The Dub's really need Baron to make the whole AI thing work becuz Baron is the only decent ball distributor the Warriors have.

Mullin's history of offering bad contracts has come back to bite him.

His only 'out' may be getting an expiring contract for Troy Murphy from the Bulls.

Say Murph for PJ Brown...

i don't think so
Baron has been playing GREAT basketball of late. No need to trade him. If he stays healthy, we have a good chance at playoffs. One game at a time!

on the Dub's and honestly I'd like to see the Dub's go that direction!

agreed, so long as
they unload a big, bad contract or two without giving away Beidrins in the process!
