Dear J-Rich,
Whatsup brotha, this is a big fan of yours, GSDubZ here. If you notice below, my signature icon is a picture of you hitting that big 3 last year in Dallas, and under the caption it says "poor in wins, rich in our hearts". Well now, we are getting those wins, and reaching the point last year where our season tanked. The only thing is, this season is different, and we know we will not tank (knock on wood). However, as we finally do become rich in wins, it seems that you, the Rich heart of our team, are having the toughest season of your career. With your name being mentioned in trades, and your inability to be YOURSELF since Nellie has arrived, I can understand how things have become frustrating. You had a tough decision to make on your knee surgery, but you did the right thing. You tried to rush back a little early, but you did it with the best of intentions and on some bad advice. You broke your hand in a blowout loss, but you were just starting to get your rhythm back and it was just unlucky... don't blame yourself. I want you to know that your fans, the true Warrior fans, have got your back. We've repped you for years when we had nothing else to rep about, and we're not about to give up on you. I have supported you in the past, I support you tonight, and I will support you in the future, especially the next couple of months while you rehab that hand and take this "blessing in disguise" as time to finish healing your knee. Come March, when playoffs are around the corner, I have faith that you will give us that extra boost to get us where we need to be. I see the dedication you have put in for your team, especially when no one else believed in us, and I know for damn sure you won't stop bringing that dedication now. So J.R., if you read this, just know, your real fans still got NUTHIN' but love for you. Waaaaaaaaaaaarrrioooooors 4 life.
1,
GSDubZ

Uhhhh
No offense man, he has shared the load with Adonal for the past 5 years for this franchise, it has been hard.
(That was a joke too. We all know he's carried it himself.)
My ears are burning!
Anyway, get well soon JRich, and Happy New Year to all at GSoM (here in Japan it's already 2007!)

Zorgon is the J-Rich of GSoM
ZORGON IS MY FAVORITE GSoM MEMBER AND HELPED ME GET OVER MY FEAR OF FOYLE AND ACTUALLY START APPRECIATING ADONAL FOR HIS STRENGTHS.
I salute you my man.
FEAR OF FOYLE?
by Skeptic con Urquell on Jan 1, 2007 9:48 AM PST up reply actions
His fear
Alot of people turn sour when he hits the floor, even if we're up, even if he stops a sure chance at a made basket by Yao, even if he dunks on 'Zo, etc. Which is a little bit asinine if you ask me, since he wasn't in charge of how much he was paid- yet he is the consumate pro that comes into the game when called upon- and does his job as asked of him.
Zorgon's presence is probably 50% of why I come here to GSoM! (baumer dropped some points for his disapear-o act)
heal up JR!
take it easy on yourself and heal up JR, we'll wait for you.
Excellent blog
Zorgs, are you gonna be at the arena tonight? Wait, do you live in OKC or Memphis? I forget...Anyway, could you put up a big sign for me that reads "GSoM, Unstoppable Baby"...???
You're All Blind
He makes one winning shot and he can dunk (ooh!!). But can he dribble, can he pass, can he play D, can he shoot (40%+)????
If you answered YES to any of these questions then you haven't been watching Warrior basketball with your eyes - maybe your heart.
He has NEVER done any of those things on a consistent basis in his ENTIRE CAREER.
The worst thing is is that he knows it himself. But, even more pathetic than that is his fake pain. Did everybody notice (in last week's game) before he got that great 'loop pass for a dunk that he could barely make up & down the court. Also, when he shoots free throws, he almost always acts as though there is something in his eyes or faking pain.
LISTEN CAREFULLY PEOPLE: if you are a good shooter, you don't shoot free throws below 80%. It doesn't happen; it just doesn't happen.
BTW, Jordan couldn't do any of these things either, but at least he learned how to compensate for his short comings. WHEN will JRich learn. Even Coach Nellie has lost patience.
Go Warriors
Wow frazie
Funny how how "left out" his rebounding strengths. But of course the world revolves around you so no need to mention that.
RE: his FG%, his career before this year is .4332. But if you include this year's FG%, his career FG percentage is .432. According to my math knowledge, that puts him over the 40% mark.
Oh and also defensively, it appears to me that while he was recovering from his injuries this year, he concentrated more on defense. If you have been watching this year's Warriors games, you should have noticed better defensive efforts from him (i.e. help defense, steals, swats, etc). Oh, don't forget his rebounding.
Lastly, his "faking" of his injury. Are you a stand-up comedian or what?
Anyway, gotta get back to work.
Ps BOLs
FAKING: You bet! I've coached for 20+ years and I know a faker when I see one!!
He might be a great human being (and that's the most important of all), but the serious lack of basic skills is killing us.
Having a solid base (knowing the fundementals) is tantamount to success - both in life as well as in sports.
Go Warriors
you've coached for 20 years
Coached for 20+ Years . . .
You made a statement about my success without having a single fact. I thought we were here to give comments not to blindly judge and/or ridicule.
Peace & Go Warriors!!!!
PS, I did not he is faking all of his injuries. I was stating that if you carefully watch JRich you will notice that he can be hobbled on one play then make a miraculous dunk on the next. Everybody that I watch the games with seem to notice this. In fact, we like it when he acts hurt as he usually plays better. This has been a pattern. Sadly though, it usually masks deficiencies.
Frazie
So you feel these numbers are "slightly" better this year given his health is less than 100%. If he was 100%, chances are these numbers would even be better.
I still can't believe you think he's faking his injuries. I don't mean to disrespect you or anything but your 20+ years of coaching experience means nothing to me. I can also see whenever a player "fakes" his injury. I played years of basketball and football and I do see some guys pretend they're hurt. But when you watch JRich, it pains me to look at him. His numbers tell you the truth...if the man wasn't hurt, he'd be back to playing solid basketball.
but the serious lack of basic skills is killing us.
You're talking as if he's Shawn Bradley, Gheorge Muresan or some guy playing in the pre-1980s. Believe me, it takes more than luck to convert on 3 pointers or 18 foot jumpers. Basic skills = non-athletic players who get eaten up by faster, athletic players. The NBA world has changed from stiffs to lightening quick and ultra-athletic players. Do you see anymore Dave Cowens outside of the Brian Cardinals, et al in today's NBA? They've all become extinct for a good reason!
Nice try though!
Just found these 'Split' stats on ESPN . . .
Look at Biedrins' (especially on 2 & 3 days rest and vs Seattle; our next victim). Hopefully, the 'rest' factor will prevail: (if not cleary showing, vs Sea (55%) on 2day (74%) on 3day (80%)
