Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Heart Breaking News

Sad to say, I've learned via the local Bay Area news that Chris Mullin is giving Mike Montgomery another shot after a failed season that resulted in yet another lottery pick. I was sure that Montgomery would get the boot during the off-season, boy was I wrong. What is the point in keeping him around? Sure we all will be entering next October with the same excitement that we did this year. With the belief that the Warriors finally have what it takes to make it over the hump and play in the post-season for the first time since Mullin himself was running around in short shorts. There is no doubt that we have legit talent on the court night in and night out to make it to the playoffs. So you must be wondering what is the problem? Why can't we make it to the playoffs? Well that is simple-coaching, thats the problem. The players show no respect towards Montgomery what so ever. Montgomery lacks the authority to achieve success in the NBA. I know it's not good to keep bringing in new guys to take over the clipboard, but Montgomery has to go! If the GSW go through another season like the one that will soon end, there is no doubt that there will be a new coach in town, but that will be following another miserable year.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

It's really bad
It doesn't make any sense to keep Monty after his poor run of coaching the Warriors.

On the flipside, he has time to be a temp.
Finish out his contract, (or not, I'm not 100% in the know about coaches having guaranteed contracts or not, as the players do), and we can shop for a better coach in the meantime.

Which is a year or two late, with bigger named coaches in previous years being moved around, this year, not soo much.

It is guaranteed
and there are 2 more years on it. I think it was 4 years @ 10 million. 2.5 a year or so isn't a lot to eat considering how utterly awful he is. At best he's been ineffective, but the reality is the players ignore him and his late-game management has been embarassing.
The only possibilities that give me hope are:
  1. Mullin is a true Nellie student and just flat-out lies to the media or
  2. He wants to find someone better not just someone else (whereby #1 would still apply).

Wish Nellie would come
But thanks to Cohan the clown, it will probably never happen until he sells.

Oh wonderful
Another year of Adonal Foyle getting 25 minutes a game when Biedrins could be doing a fine job instead. Or, heck, ditch a center altogether, and let Diogu and Murphy hack at it. Anybody but more Foyle.

Another year of seeing if Mike Dunleavy will develop, and giving him way too many minutes to do so. (here's a helpful hint, Monty: dude sucks, stop wasting your time.)

Another year of playing Pietrus out of position when it's demonstrably shown that Mike Dunleavy is an inept basketball player.

Another year of, and this is the best of all, losing.

Look on the bright side!
More jokes!

(Sorry, I know it's tough!)
