The Nightmare Continues for Warriors Nation?

Fresh off stinking up the NCAA tourney, Dukie JJ Reddick is gearing up for the 2006 Draft. Guess who his first workout is with?

"I have my first workout with a team next week -- with Golden State, I believe, and Shelden is working out for them too. One of us is going to work out with them Wednesday, the other Thursday." (from CSTV)

Is anyone else in Warriors Nation worried about a "deadly" combo of JJ Reddick, Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Troy Murphy? The whole Western conference would be scared senseless to go up against those "Big 3" (sarcasm).

Photoshop can do wonders!

Thanks to Deadspin (The Mighty MJD) for the shout out!
J.J. Redick is going to be working out for the Golden State Warriors soon. These guys sound psyched for the possibility of a line-up featuring Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, and JJ Redick . [Golden State of Mind]

I think they got us all wrong
Although they gave us the namedrop.

We most likely do not want Dunleavy's other half.

As in Dunleavy is a ball handler/distributer who is a streaky shooter, while Reddick can do nothing but shoot.

What happens when he's trapped or forced to handle the ball? What can he do for the team when his shot is not going down?

Where does he fit in with the rotation on our already guard heavy roster?

I think they
were being sarcastic, in that regard.

I can't wait to hear how
"smart" a basketball player JJ Redick is.

Smart must be basketball's answer to baseball's "gamer" euphemism. Got a guy with no discernable talents or anything else mildly intriguing to reccommend him with? Just slap him with the "smart" label. Got Dunleavy a huge extension.

but can he shoot the dang thing?
If the guy is a sharpshooter,  we need him!  He may not be a star, but if the guy is a sharpshooter we neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed him! The W's as assembled are a jump shooting team with no one who can shoot lights out.  Murph is decent but I remember when Mully practiced, he would routinely hit twenty, thirty , forty shots in a row with noone guarding him. ROUTINELY!

So can Redick win the three point contest or not? if not, don't go near him! if yes, well he won't miss open shots like Dunleavy.

peace,
kirk

He can def shoot
JJ's not like former Dukie Mike Dunleavy in that regard. The problem is his lack of defense and athleticism. There's no way the Warriors can team him up with Dunleavy, Murphy, and Foyle and not get run out of the gym every night.

Reddick's a nice pick in the mid to late teens, but at #9 (the Warriors' likely spot) he's a ridiculous reach. I can't believe they're even working him out.

Let's hope JJ's bluffing about this scheduled workout with the Warriors to try and improve his draft stock.
