Rumor: Allen Iverson to the Warriors
From Adam Stanco of Collegehoops.net:

Is AI the answer for the Warriors' 12 year playoff drought?
Iverson is a top 10 player and a mega-star. Teammates love him. Hip Hop fans love him. Ladies love him. Damn, I love him! Yo, Chris and Rod make it happen!
99% of rumors never happen, but 99% of them are fun to talk about.
Do you want the Warriors to trade for superstar Allen Iverson?

Hells ya
I'd give up pretty much anyone on the team for AI. Let me correct that, I would give up anyone on the team. I love JRich, and he's the only one who it would be a tough decision for, but AI is more clutch, a better FT shooter, and wreaks havok on a defense. I'm not sure he could co-exist with Baron under a coach like Monty though. Throw Monty in the trade too.

What would the trade be?
Do the Sixers want Murphy? They already have a PF who can't play D. Do the Sixers want Pietrus or MD? They already have Iggy. Do the Sixers want Biedrins? They already have Dalembert. The only player other than Baron and JRich that could go is Ike + some other pieces and there's always that contract matching thing.
Seems like if this deal goes down, it would be AI for #9 and Baron.
BUT I think the Hawks have more to offer with their plethora of shooting guards and small forwards. If they trade AI, they'll want a shooting guard in return.

Honestly
I love Baron, but he's not in AI's league. Baron even admitted that a few years back when the Hornets faced the 76ers in the first round of the Eastern playoffs a few years back.

I'd be very wary to get AI
That said, however, he certainly would be an interesting piece in giving the team a 1 or 2 year, if not extended, run at the playoffs and perhaps even NBA title contention, so if it were like Dunleavy/Murphy/Pietrus/pick type stuff we're giving up, I'm definitely for it. I just wouldnt want to part with someone like Ellis or Diogu or Biedrins.

AI for Baron, straight up
Would a trade for Iverson make it more likely for the Warriors to throw Monty over the side and reach out to Larry Brown? For all their supposed acrimony about "Practice", Iverson and Brown always talk each other up publicly. I'd much rather have AI/Brown than Baron/Monty - we win on both ends.
Here's my nomination for most lopsided AI trade.

Three Way Trade with Chicago
Chicago gets the #9 pick and Troy Murphy
Philly gets Baron Davis and the #16 pick.
We now have a playoff roster
Chicago now has #2, #9 and a PF in Troy Murphy
Philly has an all-star to replace AI, and the #16 pick to go with the #13 pick to move up in the draft.

What are you guys talking about??
This is something as Golden State fans that we would all wish for.
Young Murphy and Dunleavy and the 9th pick and next years 1st pick for A.I. That is only because to match AI you would need to add both. And what can you do with another PG/SG? Make J Rich play the 3 and all our problems will be figured out!
