It was heavily rumored that the Hawks had a promise to take Shelden Williams with the #5 pick. It's also heavily stupid. The Hawks could have traded down to the teens and picked up Williams. Still, he might be the next Carlos Boozer with swatting capabilities.
Hawks fans everywhere have tears of joy that their team didn't take another swingman!
This Dukie really might have "high character".

And this is why the Hawks are the 2nd worst
Why in the hell would they make a promise to this stiff? First off, you're gonna draft him at #5 overall, that's embarassment enough. But then to openly promise to take him? As if they were worried about other teams getting in on a little Shelden action? OMG, it boggles the mind.
