Rumor: Derek Fisher to the Cleveland Cavs for Lebron James

Okay fine, I made up the Lebron James part, but check out this tidbit from Marcus Thompson in the Mercury Q&A forum today:

Cleveland, from what I'm told, wants Fisher badly

Fish would be great fit with Cavs. It isn't that big of a surprise that they would be interested in one of the toughest and most clutch Warriors. His spot up jump shooting would be an asset for a playoff team, something the Warriors as presently constituted are not. Be on the lookout for our report card for Derek Fisher's 2005-2006 season with the Warriors.

Fish can take and make BIG shots.

Is there anyone on the Cleveland Cavaliers that you would trade Fish for? Aside from Lebron James?

We should be thanking the Cavs if they decide to pick up Fisher's boneheaded contract. Hell, if we get rid of that albatross, they can give us Luke Jackson.

For anyone

Any way the Warriors can get out from under Fisher's contract without picking up a worse one is a good move in my opinion. Fisher could be a good role player on the right team, but I don't think the Warriors is that team. I'd rather have Ellis, Pietrus and Bynum coming off the bench than Fisher on this team. Fisher reminds me a lot of Steve Kerr. A good player on the right team.
