Rumor: 8 Team, 9 Player Super Trade brings Allen Iverson to the Warriors

Just for fun, here's a super trade from Eze:

According to multiple sources, in a story broken by Sacramento's Grant Napier on Tuesday evening sports radio, owners and general managers are scrambling to put the finishing touches on a massive 8 team trade. Originally slated to include 6 teams and 16 players two other clubs jumped in on the action Wednesday night bringing the total players involved to as many as 19.

The Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers may go down as the franchise who started it all with their heavy shopping of guard Allen Iverson. Golden State is rumored to be the new home of the electric guard who has NBA Finals experience, an All-Star game MVP trophy, and a league leader in scoring to his credit. Golden State is set to send out forward Troy Murphy in the deal.

You can read about all of the details of this crazy trade rumor over at EBSports.

What would you bet are the chances of a 8 team trade ever happening in the NBA?

99% of rumors never happen, but you can be 100% certain that this one doesn't!

haha
19 players?

i'd like to see the whole breakdown of the deal since the article says it includes stevie franchise, kmart, and andre miller in addition to AI and murphy. maybe the Warriors can sneak Dunleavy or Foyle in there and pawn them off on a team.

Honestly
I just posted it cause I thought it was so juicy, so interesting, so profound... so not gonna happen.

LOL
Love it. I love it. It won't happen. But if there is any truth to the AI rumors it worries me.

I'm not even sure how I feel about Lipton.

I'd really like to see the Warriors persue Mr. Bad himself and work out a trade for J. O'Neal

The Bimbo Coles era has BEGUN!!!

I heard a similar but different rumor
...in which Dunleavy and not Murphy is traded as part of a 17 team 35 player deal that ultimately lands AI in the Bay.

STOP WITH THE FUCING RUMORS
MULLY AND MONTY TOO PUSSY TO DO SHIT. PISS ME OFF WITH ALL THIS TALK ABOUT BLOWING UP THE TEAM AND MAKIGN IT BETTER. LOOOKS LIKE THEY ARE STILL BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE AFTER 12 YEARS

by chimp on Jul 13, 2006 9:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

why
Why try to get Iverson when we already have BDavis and JRich? That would be like acquiring Steve Francis when you've already got Marbury. Who would do that?

Also, Monty will be gone by the end of this next season. But, hopefully sooner. Let Mario Elie coach!!!

I think this would awesome.
How could anyone complain about getting AI for Murph? I would feel bad if this trade happens because its like stealing AI and accidently leaving Murph behind. With AI, we could then trade Baron for maybe Jermaine ONeal? A lineup of AI, JRich, Dun, Ike or Andris, and Jermaine O'Neal would definitely make the playoffs.

hahaha
this would be the NBA equivalent of the blogger who traded a paperclip for a house.

LMAO
This is the funniest rumor I have EVER heard in my life. Not only do the contracts not work out, there would have to be fillers involved, making it, like a 32 player swap.....the day that happens, is the day Foyle hits a consistant 3 point shot.

Stop
No more bogus rumors...for real. I don't like pretending stuff like this could happen. I wanna know what's possible...not some crazy story about Iverson coming to the Warriors for Murphy.

Bogus Rumors
Remember, we're not making them up- just reporting them.

They're just for fun. Mostly what if's. When you're a Warriors fan, that's all you got! What if... the Warriors had made the playoffs ONCE in the past 12 years?

Like we always say: 99% of rumors never happen, but 99% of them are fun to talk about!

Still, though- I don't want to confuse a lot of our new readers. Rumors are 1/10th of what we normally do here at Golden State of Mind. If you have never seen our post game recaps during the season, you're in for a treat! Browse through our archives.

Can't wait till the season starts!
