Rumor: Al Harrington Genuinely Interested in Warriors

From Sekou Smith of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

The veteran forward and Hawks co-captain is an unrestricted free agent and said the Hawks have made it clear they have no intention of re-signing him. They could, however, re-sign him and then trade him.
The Indiana Pacers, the team Harrington left in a sign-and-trade two years ago to join the Hawks, and the Golden State Warriors are the teams making the most noise, Harrington said.

"I have a genuine interest in both of those teams," he said. "My only focus is getting back to the playoffs and eventually competing for a championship."

Whoa! A free agent who is actually interested in playing for the woeful Warriors? A free agent who is actually interested in playing for the woeful Warriors and wants to go to the playoffs and compete for a championship? Al might be little confused, but sign this guy immediately!

Al's good in the video games too!

This starting lineup would take the Warriors to the playoffs.
PG: Boom Dizzle
SG: JRich
SF: Al "Lipton" Harrington
PF: Troy Murphy
C: Let's not talk about this...

Don't ask me how Mullin and Higgins pull this off though.

Get this guy!
Harrington would go a long toward ending the playoff drought.  He's not the whole answer, but more of one than AI, in my opinion, given what we have at present and what we ultimately need.

Absofarkinlutely
We need a 3, not a guard. Harrington can play. Sign and trade, sign outright, whatever; it's better than getting AI and better than getting Maggette.

OK, at this point there's no room on the BENCH (not enough lengths of pine) for my man Theo Ratliff, so I've given up on that.

Go For It!
I'd go for having Al Harrington as a Warrior.  If he signs as a free agent, it will give the Warriors more flexibility in making other moves, but I'm sure a sign a trade would have to be done because of the salary cap.  That would definitely put Dunleavy out- trade him to his dad!!  We would still have interior problems, but Harrington isn't afraid to mix it up.  It would be nice to sign or trade for a player that WANTS to be a warrior.

Best option I've seen so far
Out of all the players i've seen in the rumors, Al is the one I would want most.  Putting him in at the 3 would definitely improve the starting line-up and if we could trade Murphy for him that would free up the cap space and make room for Ike.

Any mention of what it will take to get him in a sign and trade?

Not sure what the Hawks want
Murphy?

I think the best option would be to sign Al as a free agent even if it means going over the cap. That way there's still pieces for a blockbuster trade.

Al's solid, but he's not a superstar by any stretch. He could help the Warriors make it to the playoffs, but they would just be a 1st round exit.
