iverson for jrich

so i read this article that offers iverson for j rich. im torn. he makes some good points but jrich is so valuable. http://www.insidebayarea.com/warriors/ci_4242816

T HE GOLDEN STATE Warriors have waited a dozen years to "deal from a position of strength." Turns out, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Not willing to break up what he considers to be a good thing unless there's a great thing being offered, Chris Mullin basically has done nothing this off-season. And when you're coming off consecutive 34-win seasons with your "good thing," it's no wonder the faithful are grumbling.

Fear not, people. It's not too late ... if Mullin has gotten an inspiration from watching Team USA in the World Championships.
It seems everybody in the world (except NBA coaches) knows how to attack American players -- with speed at the point. And if it works for, say, Puerto Rico against American All-Stars, you'd think it might be a nice ploy for the Warriors to try against, say, the Clippers.

Mullin has two such weapons -- Baron Davis and Monta Ellis. I suggest a third: Allen Iverson.
Yes, Mullin would have to offer Jason Richardson to get the 76ers' attention. But you know what? In today's game, Iverson is a much more valuable commodity.
It can't happen until Richardson proves his minor knee surgery was indeed minor. But then I'm shipping Richardson, Adonal Foyle and a swap of 2007 first-round picks (the 76ers would see this as a plus, but really it isn't) for the perennial All-Star.

With Davis attacking from one angle and Iverson from another, the Warriors would dice up every NBA defense and spend half the night at the foul line. Plus, it would get Troy Murphy, the team's best pure shooter, 10 open looks a night, which would produce big-time numbers.
Yeah, the Warriors then would need another pure shooter or two to produce an international-style offense of their own, but Casey Jacobsens and Eric Piatkowskis are a dime a dozen. Acquiring a marksman (especially with Mike Dunleavy to offer) would be a whole lot easier than importing Iverson.

I know what Mullin's thinking: Iverson and Kevin Garnett will be even more desperate to get out of bad situations next summer, so why not wait until the price comes down?

My response:
Warriors fans have waited 12 years; isn't that long enough?

wed dump foyles contract and i think the draft pick swap wood benefit us.
but i really dont no wat to do.

NO! NO! NO!
Iverson kills teams, he is essentially team poison. Iverson will get his thirty, Baron will get 12 and everyone else below ten! Iverson is a HUGE ballhog! I'd much rather have Richardson!

Iverson would fit
in more ways than one: GS would instantly sell out games, which all those accusing ownership of only being money hungry can appreciate ... he can score, and demand attention that would free up JRich and Murphy ... and he wants to win BADLY and could come in motivated. With the endless trade talk this summer, the "I'll show Philly" chip on his shoulder would be huge, and a chance to make local history by taking the Woes to the playoffs (and beyond) he could be just what we both need. Finally, his contract would also require Philly to  take some of our big contracts off our hands too.

However, there is NO WAY he and BD can co-exist on the court and giving up JRich in his prime is suicide for the organization. The only way Iverson comes to GS is if Barren is included in the deal.

i agree
i also dont see how philly could do it. they would have no point. they would have to want baron. but we have to give up baron and someone like pob or biedrins to. baron for iverson would in no way get phillys atrtention. i also think your wrong about iverson and bd coexisting. one, i read baron saying somewhere that his goal was the hall of fame, and you cant make the hall of fame without getting to the playoffs in your prime. iverson could take him there. then if it really doesnt work you put baron in for the first and third quarters with mp2 at the 2. and iverson plays 2nd and fourth quarters with monta. i know that doesnt sound like it would work but i think it could

No!
First off, if Iverson comes, give up on Monta or Ike or anyone to pan out. JRich will become Andre Iguodala II, assuming he is not traded. Baron will complain about Iverson, and Baron will lose his role as a leader.

Plus two, Iverson is already thirty, and heading into the final years of his career. A couple years from now that contract isn't gonna be looking so good. Baron and JRich are mid twenties, don't give up on these players in their prime. DON'T pull the trigger on this one.

j rich
andre Iguodala will be luck if he is ever close to the player jrich is he might someday be a jrich 2 but jrich is already way better

AI instead of Baron?
Baron is overweight with bad wheels or bad attitude, ... I'm not sure which.

GS needs consistency at the point and BD misses 30% - 40% of GS games each of the last 3 years.

How do you make a winner with that?

BD also hogs the ball for the last shot. No one minds if he makes those but with game on the line he is hitting 20% if he is lucky. I'd be surprised if he does that.

20% don't play in the regular season and esp. not the playoffs.

Hey! What is Hardaway doing?
