Scoop Jackson Thinks Warriors + Nellie = Playoffs

From Scoop Jackson's ESPN Sports Nation chat this afternoon:

Yup, the playoffs.

I just wanted to give a special shout out to Scoop for all the great work he's done over the years covering the hoops world. He always brings that cool, down-to-earth perspective coupled with some sharp insights. There's a lot of haters, but that's bound to happen when you speak up and say some pretty counter-hegemonic things. Keep doing your thing Scoop.

In case you were wondering Sole Provider is the Encyclopedia Britannica for Nike Basketball Shoes. Definitely check it out. It's almost as hot as the newly launched GSoM Fashion segment.

Also, I wanted to point out that ESPN just loves Golden State of Mind (formerly Golden State Warriors BLOG). No really!

Nellie and Defense
Back in his earliest days with Milwaukee, Nelson emphasized defense, though he was criticized for being too restrictive on offense.  He seemed to take the criticism to heart too well it seems as he moved to an offense first at the expense of defense coach.

Nelson's clever.  I can't think of another coach I'd rather have crafting an inbounds play late in the game.  I expect he'll figure out what the Warriors have and how to use them to maximize their potential, whatever that may be. How he'll do this remains to be seen.
