From Marc J. Spears for the Denver Post:

In other personnel news, Golden State and Portland might have interest in a potential sign-and-trade for free-agent guard DerMarr Johnson, who played last season with Denver.

DerMarr Johnson was a high lottery pick back in 2000. He was oozing with talent and had a promising NBA career till he had a very serious car accident in 2002. Props to him from coming back from that and being a solid role player. I haven't seen him play that much, but there's always a need for lanky swingmen. Check out his career stats.

What's your scouting report on DerMarr Johnson? Could he help the Warriors?

99% of rumors never happen, but 99% of them are fun to talk about!

DerMarr
I was back in NY a couple of years ago and checked out a Knicks game at the Garden and DerMarr was playing for the Knicks back then...I saw him as a guy that could easily become a fan favorite because of his style of play and of course his cool name. While I don't think this guy will ever live up to the expectations put on him as such a high draft pick, (sound familiar Suckleavey?) I think he has the toughness and grit we need on this team right now. I remember him being a good defender with a pretty decent shot. Maybe an upgraded Calbert Chaney type without the guaranteed sweet midrange shot? I'd love to see him here, just don't give up too much for him. How about Zarko and Andre Owens (who lives on my floor like 5 apartments down from me and trust me when I say his off the court actions are not very encouraging, but thats another story altogether)?

No!!!
We need toughness, scrappers.  DerMarr has not shown that.  I give a lot of credit for coming back from his tragic accident.  But we need to stop grabbing at these types of "flashy" guys.   We need Brian Cardinal!!  Shane Battier!!!

Haha!
Bring back the Custodian! I still have my #35 jersey. Too bad he's under contract with the Griz...i'm pretty sure they picked him up for the MLE when we gave ours to Fish. If Cardinal were an unrestricted FA then i'd say we nab him but I wouldn't trade any of our pieces that it would take to get Cardinal. And Battier just got traded to te Rockets...no way he gets moved again this year, especially given what the Rockets would want back in return. Besides, NO MORE DUKIES ON THIS TEAM! I can't stand Coach K (even though that has nothing to do with this) and outside of Brand, Duke players have not been known to exactly light up the league.

There are a few good Dukies
Grant Hill, Corey Maggette, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer.

You know
for some reason I always forget about Maggette going to Duke, good call. Grant Hill sure had the potential...too bad he couldn't stay healthy. And the jury is still out on Deng for me, and Boozer is a Loozer if you ask me. Oooo look how cleaver I was with that!

grant hill
yes grant hill did have potential to be better than he was but he was also an allstar last year

I like DeMarr

I don't get it
I'm not so sure why everyone is so drunk on the Battier Kool-Aid. Maybe i'm missing something but i've never seen this guy do anything that impressive

Battier
He's an above average shooter from anywhere on the court, doesn't turn the ball over much, plays above average defense, rebounds well for his positon and his performance stays steady.  He's not going to wow you, but he's effective.  Memphis was better at both ends of the floor with him in the game.

Battier's a good example of a player who is unspectacular, but helps quite a bit.  He's a good example of why evaluating based on watching a guy from time to time and expecting something spectacular means missing out on some guys who really do make a difference for their club.
