Fisher Free Throws

Even though they traded him, Derek Fisher is still the Warriors' best free throw shooter. At least the Warriors seem to think so. This image advertising the Free Throw Fridays contest is up on Warriors.com right now:

FreeThrowFriday.jpg
Are these really tryouts to play for the Warriors?

I'm not sure if this is an error or if this is intentional. I mean take a look at some of the god-awful free throw shooting on display at the Arena last season:

Now that Fish is gone who do you think will be the Warriors' best free throw shooter next season? And no- Thunder and Chris Mullin don't count.

(Why is this article in the Humor section? Well, like DJ Fuzzy Logic always says when it comes to the Warriors- "laughing keeps us from crying." Man, there's a reason why they're called FREE throws.)

Ike is the best
I don't think the %s will change much.

Off topic but are we gonna do a fantasy bball league? I won last year and I need to defend my crown.

Fantasy BBall
Yea we're looking into a fantasy bball league. We're not going to do a head-to-head league because too few people can participate. Maybe a GM league where everyone can pick from the same pool of players or something like that. That will allow us to have a lot of people competing against each other.

If you have any ideas about improving the league let us know.

Great job if you can get it
I'd be an 85%+ FT shooter if paid the MLE. I'd shoot underhand if necessary. You could wave those big foam finger things and yell but I'd still shoot 85%+.

I'll bet Monta leads the team.  I see a guy who wants to prove a lot of people wrong.

Under Nellie FT% and fitness will go along way to establishing the starting line up: Make your shots and get back on team defense.

Keith McLeod and Devin Brown
are actually pretty good FT shooters.  McLeod is already our 2nd best behind Diogu.  McLeod shot 80% FT last year, and Devin Brown is a career 77% FT shooter.

if the other team needs to foul on purpose, we could throw out 5 good FT shooters in that situation:

McLeod 80%
Brown 77%
Dunleavy 77%
Ike 81%
Murphy 79%

Awesome re-use of resources
Webmaster @ GSW's NBA.com PR dept.

Fisher will shoot free throws from WAAAY downtown in Salt Lake City!

This calls for an update to his sneaks, maybe call them Air Max Express(overnight mail)!

But if we can grab Rick Barry (who isn't too busy at the moment without his KNBR show correct?) to free throw coach the squad, everyone should have a career year.

Make it happen Don Nelson!

5 PF's =/= 1 Antawn Jamison
