Rumor: Suns Not Interested in Melvin Ely Anymore

This tidbit from Jerry Brown for the Easy Valley Tribune.com could have an impact on the Warriors for either a sign and trade for Melvin Ely (check out: Rumor: Warriors Interested in Sign and Trade for Melvin Ely and Rumor: Warriors Dealing for Melvin Ely) or a larger Mike Dunleavy and Mickael Pietrus for Gerald Wallace and Melvin Ely trade that we've been tipped on (see: GSoM EXCLUSIVE Rumor: Dunleavy + Pietrus for Gerald Wallace + Ely / Bonzi Signs w/ Bobcats, GSoM EXCLUSIVE Rumor: Update- Warriors/ Bobcats Deal, Rumor: Dunleavy + Pietrus for Ely + Wallace Not Happening, and GSoM EXCLUSIVE Rumor: The Ball is in Mullin's Court):

After fairly significant talks with the Charlotte Bobcats about a sign-and-trade deal involving 6-foot-10 power forward/center Melvin Ely, the Suns have cooled on the idea. With both Kurt Thomas (foot stress fracture) and Stoudemire (two knee surgeries) returning, Ely would have served as an athletic insurance policy inside.

Would you be more worried about Pacific Division foe Phoenix Suns if they obtained Ely? Would Ely make them that much tougher for the Warriors to beat this season? Looks like we don't have to worry about this anymore.

99% of rumors never happen, but 99% of them are fun to talk about!

Oh yes
Ely would be the biggest threat on the team of the two time MVP, rookie of the year and future comeback player of the year, and the consistently underrated Matrix.  It is good that they decided not to go after him, because now we can
Well theres always next year x12
