Do you want Zach Randolph?
Dave from SBN Hoops brother site Blazers Edge recently tried to shop Zach Randolph to us and several other team bloggers. Despite his rare 20-10 ability, Randolph didn't spark much interest on the "blogger trading block".

Randolph is garbage
I don't really see what Randolph provides over Murphy. Randolph surpassed 10 rpg once, when he played 38 minutes a night. Murphy's a better rebounder, getting his 10 in far fewer minutes. Randolph only scores more by dominating the ball. He's hardly automatic down low.
If it were just production, I'd still not want to swap Murphy for Randolph, essentially getting the opportunity to pay more for less. But with Randolph's baggage, it's even less of a no brainer. Stay away from Randolph.
Thumbs Down
Other PFs I wouldn't trade for: Kenyon Martin. Too big a risk.
I'd consider Carlos Boozer for Murphy even if he does have some question marks. He can play some C and is more tradeable than Murphy IMHO.

got much love for Spike
In terms of Zach, I remember seeing him on fire a year or two back, and thinking that he could be the next 25 & 12, game-winning shot-hitting strong forward star.
The main reason not to get him is chemistry: we just can't handle his personality with our current crew. Nelson is a big-picture guy, and he'll bring a lot of vision and structural insights into how we can win games with our current squad. But he's not necessarily a big-hearted guy, and as it is he's going to need to find lots of room in his heart for the various prima donna would-be superstars, from Baron to Pietrus to Dunleavy and on down. We really couldn't handle another underperforming, huge ego needing of massage.
But who knows? Once we put Mario Eli in charge...

If you want a dead player then sure
That's not the kind of player we want or need now is it
deja vu?
``We had to make a decision," said McMillan. ``In our minds, Sebastian was the future, but did the combination of Sebastian and Zach Randolph work? And do the players we have fit the style of play that Sebastian brings to the floor? They don't. ... We had to make a decision: build around Sebastian or build around Zach. And the decision was to build around Zach." [Boston Globe]
... now if they had that choice over again ...
