exploring some trade ideas

hey, i dont know if anyone saw nba fastbreak saturday night, but a man i believe to be marc jackson (i suck at names) said that the warriors were struggling (surprise?) and mentioned the warriors were making plays for gerald wallace, in a deal that would send dunleavy and murphy plus the phili cash (we wont get the pick) for gerald wallace and matt carrol, he mentioned some teams like zarko and pietrus in a package because it is 5 mil off the cap this offseason

He also said that the Warriros have an interest in rashard lewis, despite him being injured, once again we would send dunleavy, murphy, cash to the sonics for lewis and possible fortson or watson, the sonics like the fact that fortson is 6 mill off the cap so they want to hold on to him and save the money, and watson isnt exactly the happiest guy in the world

if either of these trades are true, it would be incredible, wallace and lewis can play the point forward that nellie loves, and wallace may struggle shooting, but he can get out and run and play top notch D, lewis extends the defense which is a very useful, it gives baron and j-rich a good kick out option and can help clear the middle of help defense.  even carrol can give a tough defender/ 3 point option if we get him, plus 1.5 mill off the cap next year

if the charlotte one happens, we save roughly 8 million to go towards barnes or biendrins or ellis, and we save about six million if we get fortson, if we get watson, we dont save money, but he has a much easier contract to move, so we can get rid of that alot easier than dun dun or murphy.

i really hope one of these happens, i will be one happy warrior fan

p.s. just got my gsom shirt, ash grey, its awesome, nice work guys

and just for fun a poll

also i checked all these on espn trade machine and they all work and

Post this in a diary and the community will love you

EITHER ONE!
TRADE NOW PLEASE!

in another news, on NBA 2K7 I traded Dun and Foyle for Samuel Dalembert and Kyle Korver. Happy to be rid of them contracts.

Ronald Reagan was a jerk.

mmm
Lewis would be the closest thing to a pure shooter we can get on this team. He shoots the 3 well, ft's well, and is extremely long. The only thing is that he is due for an extension soon. It seems hard to believe that seattle would want dun and murph. Maybe one but not two. That's like a fantasy for all gsom'ers haha.

Oh Lord
PLEASE?!?!?!?  i would want Lewis for sure, if Seattle is clueless enough to make that deal jump all over it.  Watson over Fortson for sure.  Fortson is dirty plus theres bad blood between him and Zarko.  I would go for Wallace also if they threw Carrol in.  He hasnt had that great a season, but he is way more productive than Dun or Murph.

yeah
fortson basically ruined zarko's career. i wouldn't want those two on the same team

Sounds too good to be true
But I certainly hope it isn't

any...
but I chose lewis and fortson. we DESPERATELY NEED some hard nose players! we need some Rashard Lewis, Gerald  Wallace, Al Harrington, Ron Artest like players who are TOUGH! I love how nice and friendly and cuddly and adorable and loveable the warriors are (don't you just wanna squeeze monta ellis?) but we need SOMEONE who can grab some rebounds and be tough down low. Biedrins is our only big tough guy...

i like
Wallace and Carrol...you get perimeter defense/slasher/scorer in Wallace and you get outside shooting in Carrol.

Sure Rashard and Watson would be nice as well...only reason I didn't go there is because Lewis isn't a very good defender and he is hurt alot...Watson is nice, but i think the W's are grooming Monta to be a backup PG anyway.

Eh, i'd wet myself if either of these happened to tell you the truth.

for awhile...
I couldnt decide between... Wallace and Carrol or Lewis and Watson. But then I realized that we desperately need a dependable shooter/scorer and a hardnosed defender at the point. So I'd want Rashard Lewis and Earl Watson. We dont need Wallace's athleticism because we can take our pick between Barnes/Pietrus/Kelena all for much cheaper than Wallace. I dont know much about Carrol except that hes a shooter so I couldnt really say much.... but is he a more consistent scorer than Rashard Lewis?

by ZombieWarrior on Jan 15, 2007 2:13 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

not really
carrol can shoot the three but thats about it, and the issue is he is really streaky, he'll either hit a ton of threes or be throwing up bricks, a positive is that he has enthusiasm on defense and can hold his own, not a shutdown guy, thats wallace, but a guy who you dont need to worry about covering for

Love it.
I wanted Mully to go after Wallace and Lewis in the offseason, so I'm glad that someone else is thinking that those guys would be a great match as well.

But let's be realistic: nobody's gonna take Murph AND MDJ. How about this instead:

Ely and Wallace for MDJ, POB, and Keith McLeod. Warriors might need to give up that 76ers cash as well. Both Ely and Wallace are in the final years of their contracts (though Wallace has a player option for next year), which allow us to match a contract offer to Pietrus a little easier. Most likely we'd only be able to resign one of the two (Ely or Wallace), or maybe neither, so you'd kinda be giving up MDJ and POB for possibly nothing--except for flexibility. Charlotte would get a project center to develop, and maybe they'll think MDJ's a "glue guy," which they need. We all know, of course, that he is not.

We used to have Danny Fortson
who was leading the league in rebounds, if I remember correctly.

Don't want him back now, but Rashard Lewis at a reasonable cost would be a nice start to finally working the trade market.

There were quite a few Gerald Wallace diaries for trade ideas and also for Corey Magette as they're the nearly the same type of player in the offseason.

I like Rashard's game over Gerald myself.

if these were actually offered
I'm pretty sure they'd have been accepted like, immediately.
