Warriors Bringing Patrick O'Bryant Back to the NBA

As a reward for his recent "fabulous play" in the NBDL (see More Notorious[ly bad] POB NBDL stats by EternalWarriorsOptimist and Notorious POB NBDL stat tracker by OaktownFunk), the Warriors are bringing Patrick O'Bryant back up to the major leagues. GSoM friend Janny Hu has the details as well as some injury updates on JRich, Mickael Pietrus, Keith McLeod, and Adonal Foyle.

POB has struggled a little bit against these top-notch NBDL Centers.

What kind of numbers are you predicting from POB tomorrow night against the Paper Clips?

I'm going all out and predicting he stuns us all with a double-double. No-No-Notorious!

Wow
This is merely so we can have more than the minimum number of players IMO. He's gonna get 4 points and 3 rebounds right before we package him with Dun for Maggette.

whhhaaaa
I gotta be honest, i think POB was just a pick for the management to play games with the fans, cause thats about all hes accomplished so far.  Tomorrow night i predict a 2-2-5 game 2 points 2 boards and 5 fouls

anyone else think...
that this is a move perpetuated by the clipper's interest in a trade for Dunleavy? I can see Baylor calling Mullin today and telling him "well we like what we saw out of Mike Jr, how bout you show us what POB looks like in tommorow night's game and maybe we could work out a deal."

I'm sure there are rules about a player having to be on an NBA roster (as opposed to being on a D-League roster) before he can be traded as well...

POB
was always on our roster. Even tho he played in the D-league, he still took up a spot on our roster.

That is a reasonable and good idea

I'm with Bimbo
This smacks of a possible trade harbinger. I can't find an article to prove this, but didn't Nellie just say, as of a few days ago, that POB wasn't getting called up anytime soon because he wasn't ready to help the team? Was this on that KNBR show that the GSoM guys posted a few days ago?

Well anyway, if the above is true--and we've seen the stats, so we have no reason to believe it's not--then this call-up is Mully all the way. POB might not be called on as an extra body on the court, but an extra piece in a trade. Anybody else anticipating something to go down after tomorrow night's game? (It sure wasn't gonna go down BEFORE this back-to-back matchup.)

thanks for posting this.
It's nice to be able to log on to GSOM to read O'Bryants Development League stats.

O'Bryant isn't being brought up for the Clippers..
A buddy of mine is an Eastern Conference scout and is in town today (I live in LA). Just had dinner with him.

He's headed to the game tomorrow specifically to scout O'Bryant. There haven't been trade talks or anything, so don't get your hopes up. He said that the Warriors brought him up because they needed the body and there are at least three or four teams that will be at STAPLES tomorrow to give him a look.

Thanks for the info Pree
It remains to be seen whether POB can get on the floor tonight to show off for the scouts. Or what he'll show them when he's out there. Go POB!

My Predictions for POB
  1. He continues to rebound and block shots at an above average pace.
  2. He hits his FT's at an 85% clip
  3. He's 7 ft tall
  4. He's still a rookie.

hope those scouts
are looking for a guy that waves a mean towel...maybe a guy with a quick first step off the bench to deliver a solid high five?? LOL, he ain't getting off the bench. He's there in case of injury to one of the bigs.

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.
