GSoM Hits the Mark: One Million and Rising!
I honestly don't think any of us expected this to happen so fast, but today Golden State of Mind reached the one million hit mark.

"ONE MILLLLLLION HITS!!"
It's been nothing short of amazing. We're growing faster than you can say Ikechukwu Somtochukwu Diogu or even Kelenna Azubuike!
The heavy traffic at this site is a real testament to how loyal and passionate this community is. Even though the Warriors have been the doormat of the NBA for over a decade, this blog is one of the most heavily trafficked and frequently updated (meaning both posts on the front page and all your happening diaries) hoops blogs around. Can you imagine how crazy this site would be if the Warriors actually made the playoffs or were contending for a title? Holy Cabarkapa!
One of our main goals when the 5 of us started this project was to raise enough money for great season tickets for Warriors games to share with this community (floor seats- it could happen!). Thanks to you all that's going to happen someday. Spread the word, send advertisers our way [goldenstwarriors@gmail.com], sport the hottest gear from the GSoM Store, and most importantly help us keep this family show going strong with great community discussions. This isn't like traditional media or even Internet message boards. This is something new. This is something you're a really a part of and help shape.
One million is fabulous, but we want to keep rising up the charts. We're just getting this golden operation started. What can we do as a community to make the next million hits that much better?

congrats
just a few suggestions, maybe some more contests, prizes arent really needed, but the essay contest was pretty cool, i would participate if it were to come again.
maybe so more community oriented things, a chat room would be pretty cool, especially during games, we could have weekly warrior chats or something, that would be tight
great work guys

Way To Ring in the New Year
Just keep on keeping on

Moderate some of the childish cussing and mudslinging a little bit.
Nobody wants to read that a possible future hall of famer player(at the least the Warriors think so with their press release book they sent out) in Chris Mullin is a "faggot" because of debatable bad player/salary signings.
Or that a fan would sexually please some player on the team said as an insult then the person ends with "haha just playin," as if that makes it okay.
Or 5 F'bombs in a row in the game comments section when someone gets their 4th foul in the 3rd quarter.
Have these jokers keep the grade school comments on the blacktop, High School lunchroom, or in toilet humor TV shows like Southpark, thanks.
Keep it civil here.
The finger pointing that goes on after losses or poor play from people who aren't consistent and never have been is also getting old.
Try to stop those trains from starting up so we don't have to hear any of it for the thousandth time, then designate someone as a 'only-this-player-supporter.' They're on the same team here and its only beneficial to root on everyone.
But other than that, its been lots of fun since I've been here. Seems like only yesterday that half a million hits Baron webpin went up. We don't even have a proper game winner excited player pic yet this year to make the same one for a million!
How about the Nellie 1200 win picture or something similar(that is if someone hasn't already finished it).
Not to be that other guy but . . .
Stuff like that comment about Mullin (way to post it again for everyone to see, genius.) is ignorant and lame but still not as obnoxious, IMO, as someone who always wants to outlaw things that they don't like.
One of the main reasons I like this site is because it's laid back and there aren't a bunch of people trying to police every post. I think the guys who run this site do a good job of reminding us, from time to time, to keep it PG-13 without having to go off on people in public.

When will these youngsters learn!
When they figure out they're short of breath and their play is sufferin from yelling "fuck" all the time?

Like a few years back
And also Donyell's expression when his eyes are bugging out like the Guiness World Records lady is also key to get the whole picture.

Definately agree about the sexual thing....
Also agree about cussing. But I don't think there's much stopping it. I mean, even I have cussed in game threads (albeit it is usually censored).
You wanna see bad? Go over to WarriorsWorld.net! It's where all of the trash likes to hang out. No direspect to Del, GSW4Life (or the similar) or any of the other "diamonds in the rough", but it is full of flying poop.
Also, you seem to be trying to restrict opinion. Opinion! I don't care if someones whole purpose here is to prove that Latrell choking PJ was the right thing to do, as long as they don't attack any other members in a hateful way or anything like that, it's perfectly legal.
I'd be long gone if we restricted opinion.
And, you know, many peopel have not been down the trains you talk about! Maybe they just discovered the site! Let them enjoy, and discuss things they haven't before! Some people just love doing that, it's opinion, and that's okay.
And designating a person as a Monta lover or Dunleavy hater is wrong too, but its people opinion, and their right to do so.
And as far as what I want added to the site....
Chatroom during games (I know Atma rejected this, but I still campaign for it to happen)
Someone to program NBA JAM to be played online, over the computer, and in leagues. GSoM NBA JAM? IT'S ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!
Adonal to get a double double. You guys have inside ties! Tell Nellie to play more 'Donal! Bribe him with his own fasion line of Nellie Hilfiger! Adonal has only been on the court long enough for a double double once (Yao Ming War II). And for you Trade Jumpers, it boots trade value!
The thing I'm
The older members like yourself are laid back and I have no problem with that.
You don't ignore things to make them go away and since nobody responded to the original time that thing was posted, I figured nobody cared or saw it.
You don't need to give me a hard time for my opinion here either, its just an opinion, and pointing out admittingly minor problems with the site in regards to not following said (voluntary) community guidelines.
I'm used to stricter messaging boards is all. I can't stand teens/immature people who run amok like this is myspace.com
At least have the site's team point out to these guys that some things are out of line, instead of letting it slide, so the younger folks grow up into you older guys with better attitudes.

Congrats
Hoorrrayy for GSoM
I do have one suggestion if I may:
Some of us probably don't have NBA League Pass or (gulp) cable. Would you guys be able to embed lengthy video higlights of their games? Someone posted that one time in a game against Detroit. I think it was a link to Youtube or something but I enjoyed it a lot. Anyway, just a thought...
Hey man
Best thing for you to do is to roll on over to NBA.com, look at broadband videos (I assume you have it because you were talking about YouTube) and look at the Warrior game highlights. You could also subscribe to NBA League Pass Broadband if you've got the moolah. If not, watching on Yahoo gamechannel is probobly as good as you'll get.
Remember, I was a Warriors fan since '98, and didn't watch an actual game until 2005!
Beautiful.....
Thanks for the best way to avoid doing any work!
Very Niiiiiiice...
Keep up the good work, its VERY entertaining..
Oh...and the people trying to be the GSoM police need to get a life.
Go W's!!!

GSOM, great fan blog, or the GREATEST fan blog?
Over at SFist.com, our vote is for the GREATEST fan blog. This site is creative, funny, informative, and always right on. AtmaBrother, YaoButtaMing and the rest of the staff should get free courtside season tickets for life from the Warriors management just for caring so much about this woebegone franchise.
The best part is that GSOM provides a central place for true Warriors diehards and curious onlookers alike to rub shoulders and trade thoughts on our local NBA cagers.
And bloodsweatanddonuts is right on the money, one of the things that make GSOM great is that everybody is free to express how they feel. Hey, you know what, this team has stunk it up for 12 years, there's plenty of stuff to complain about, and Warriors fans should complain vociferously and with numerous expletives, as warranted. Warriors management needs to hear it on a daily basis, because public outrage will be the only thing that motivates Chris Cohan to do anything other than collect his money.
Great job GSOM, we look forward to reading and linking to your stories for many playoff seasons to come.
