Recap: Warriors - 95, Nets - 100 - A Sloppy Poem for a Sloppy Loss.

Shameless Plug: If you haven't already submitted a guess for our Xmas Ticket Contest, hop to it!

Twas' three nights before Christmas,
And in the basketball world,
Between the Warriors and Nets,
A battle unfurled.

With scoring potential,
And players running deep,
"No problem", said Warriors,
"We'll make the Nets weep!"

Alas it was not so,
We looked like the chump,
More narration in poem,
Right after the JUMP!

Warriors Nets Basketball
What the hell is going on in this picture...

Boxscore

Ignoring the curse,
That the Meadowlands held,
Where the Warriors can't win,
(Where they always get shelled.)

The Dubs stepped on court,
With their guns and their tanks,
A played garbage ball,
They were firing blanks!

There were bricks after bricks,
And lackluster D,
And miss after miss,
On the almighty three.

In the first half the Nets,
They put on a thriller,
With players like Boone,
Going for Warrior Killer.

K, seriously though!
He's at 4 points a game!
Yet drains 12 in the first half?!
Ridiculously lame.

With Ellis aside,
The Dubs played half-ass,
Not only missing shots,
But getting killed on the glass.

When the half time clock drained,
And the buzzer has sounded,
The players faced Nellie,
Who told them "YOU'RE GROUNDED!!"

"NO X-BOX FOR BARON!"
The he looked to his right...
"AND NO MCDONALDS FOR ANYONE!
UNLESS WE WIN THIS TONIGHT!"

Good to see Cohan supporting the team.

As they left the locker room,
Baron looked up at the pack,
He said, "I was gonna play Halo..."
"As soon as we got back..."

So the Warriors came out,
With more fire in their eyes,
The D forced more turnovers,
Giving the O far more tries.

But Kidd couldn't be stopped,
And Jefferson too,
With assists and buckets,
Their lead actually grew!

For at the end of the third,
Eight points was the gap,
Big Macs after the game,
Weren't likely on tap.

As we went into the fourth,
The Dubs still looked alive,
Never getting the lead,
Until 3:55!!!

WITH A MIRACLE 3!
BARON KICKED IN A TREY!!
THE BENCH ROSE TO ITS FEET
CRYING "MCNUGGETS TODAY?!!"

But our joy was diminished,
As the game clock wound down,
Vinsanity with 3,
Dashed our lead to the ground.

As the game came to a close,
Our skies, they turned gray,
With so many blown chances,
And the game tossed away.

Let us put our heads down,
And prepare for Cleveland tomorrow,
We cannot be tied down,
By tonight's woeful sorrow.

We shall look to the future,
Against LeBron we'll play tight,
So Merry Almost Christmas to all,
And to Nellie.... A Bud Light.

wonder

Overall this was Monta,
Who performed from the start,
While everyone else slept,
He displayed all of the heart.

But a cap tip to Beans,
Also repping the Orange,
Notching a double double,
He... um... well... uh....

Crap.

Golden!
Big ups to Hash. My man's poem recap was much better than the actual game. Just a sloppy affair with the refs calling a whopping 53 fouls (more than one a minute!). Moving on...

WOW
what a recap. Very creative and impressive. Nicely done, Gsomer4ever!!!!.

Damn, with the talent we have, we shouldn't have lost this game. THey need to drink their redBull b4 they come out and play. IF they don't play better defense, we are gonna see more and more career numbers for people like Boone(phebt). OUr defense is our offense.

brb, going to ORACLE

DOORHINGE!!!!
That actually kind of works!!

Not sure how I could have worked that into a verse about Beans but I'll be sure to use that little tidbit of knowledge to win a few bar bets in the near future.

the cohan caption
was the best part, but the poem was really good too. frustrating loss though, it's the ones that get away that come back in Spring . . .
My girlfriend hates that I'm into basketball again, and that I yell at the TV during games.

I take blame for the loss
I never saw the game. I hit NBA.com for the time and I swear I saw 7:30pm. I forgot to reason that they were playing an East coast team, which meant the game would start 10:30 their time. But really, I swear I saw 7:30 and so I missed the entire game.
