Recap: Warriors 120, Knicks 101 - A Little Action Jackson for Valentine's?

Well Happy Valentine's to us Warrior fans! Tonight we enjoyed watching them beat the New York Knicks with ease. It was like a date with destiny and our star was the incredible Action Jackson.

Special thanks to Sleepy Freud

These are the types of games I enjoy watching as a Warrior fan. What I don't understand is why we can't see more games like this. From the tip off to the final buzzer, we dominated in every single category. Even though we struggled in the third allowing the Knicks to cut the lead in half, we were still able to cruise through the fourth and secure the win.

"Man, we're getting crushed and I don't have a Valentine's date! Hold me!" - Curry

The Warriors scored 62 points in the first half, never trailed, and at halftime they had held the Knicks to a miniscule 38 points. You could see the Knicks were on vacation mentally and didn't have a good flow. The most impressive part of the game was the fact that we shot an amazing 60% from the field and 52.4% from behind the arc. With those percentages we can't lose! I think we also did a great job spreading the ball around and Ellis played the point perfectly.

Here are the players who stood us up and those who shined:
Who stood us up tonight?
Baron was out due to knee surgery.
Pietrus has an ankle sprain.
JRich won't be back till next week.
Cabarkapa is out ... well I don't really know why.

Who showed up tonight? Here's my top 4 players:

Azubuike: I say it over and over, "I love this guy!" I can't believe he came out of nowhere and contributes right off the bat. His basketball IQ is impressive, but how come we never hear the announcers say that?

Robinson: He's not a Warrior, but with his size I consider him one. This guy is fun to watch and he had a nice night even while being guarded by Ellis. He led the Knicks with 23 points but it wasn't enough.

Ellis: Keep him on point until Baron gets back. His 7 assists and 23 points were highlighted by a couple sweet moves and fancy plays. I wouldn't mind seeing him start along side Azubuike from now on! There I said it!

Warrior Wonder: Action Jackson Baby: Lets see, he had 21 points in the first half and ended the night with 36. He shot a staggering 61% from the field and 50% from 3pt territory. Even though the Warriors kept giving him the ball because he was on fire, he remained unselfish as he found the open guy to lead the team with 8 assists.

i'm still cracking up about how
Barnett admitted to talking trash to Isiah when the Knicks made their push in the 3rd. Barnett said that Isiah replied to his trash talking with a "wait till the 2nd half". LOL

Barnett's a gangsta

Ummm....
I hate Jim Barnett. He's so boring and he always correct Fitz on stupid ass sh*t that doesn't really need to be corrected. He brings down the announce team. I can't wait till he's all done.

If you take a look out of your windows, you can now see Dallas, TX. Quite the site, no?

think again...
if you think Barnett is bad, you should listen to some of the other FSN announcers in other regions.... I feel lucky to have this tandem.

x2
What wander said.  5 years at UCSB = 5 years of NBA League Pass and MLB Extra Innings.  It was like having a near death experience w/out-of-town announcers.  We have it so good you can't even imagine...some will never know how bad it is, and that's probably for the best.

Yeah.
I don't care how bad other ones are. Barnett is a douche.

Azubuike
Mullin made a very smart move signing this kid.  See, Mullin knows a little talent.  He's found Azubuike, Ellis, Biedrins & Barnes.

I remember seeing a few posts earlier in the season about how people didn't like seeing Roberson go.  Roberson who?

Sure Roberson can shoot the J, but he's very streaky, can't play a lick of D, and again, all he does is just jack up shots.  Azubuike can shoot the J just as well, perhaps even better, can play D, does not just jack up shots but plays within the flow of the game, and has a pretty good basketball IQ.  Also not to mention that sick dunk on J.R. Smith.

Hopefully he'll be in a Warrior uniform for a while, but don't be surprised with the amount of guards we have on our team, he draws interest from other teams.

the race to 8th is just too close its scary!

With J-rich coming back do you think his knee will be ok, or will it still be playing up??

Historical win probability
Did they show that graphic and I missed it? They had the credit for it at the end.

Fiitz and Barnett are Great!
Fitz and Jim Barnett are the best! They're like GSW family. They always keep it positive, which is not easy at times, and they are very knowledgable.

Finally, they are so much more enjoyable to listen to than the announcers on some of the other networks.

Actually...
Barnett sounded a little bit more mellow than his usual self last night, and I actually like that better.

Less sugar-coating, more criticism and best of all, I didn't hear a 'quite frankly' the entire game. :)

all the turmoil of the first half
and still just one game out of the playoffs. it's looking pretty good since we're getting j-rich back

Sleepy's graphic
Sleepy's got the pshop skillz.  Like how he left some French in the poster.
That 3rd quarter sloppiness was disgusting.  I had to turn it off in the 4th.  Glad they pulled it out, but the Dubs need to learn how to play with a big lead.  Never take the foot off the gas even when its the scrubs.

azubuike is a beast
he will never do anything amazing, ever, but he is the ultimate role player. hes a guy who knows when he''s open enough and within range to make a shot and doesnt demand the ball. hes got quick hands and can take it down the court himself. furthermore, probably his most unique asset is his ability to block shots. i dont know if anyone noticed but he had yet another blocked shot last night as well as changing two others ehough to force the miss, i luv him
the good/bad about being a warriors fan: bad: 13 years...nuff said good: there GSoM

dude
it was the knicks.
on a back 2 back.
with the dubs at home.

once adonal drove right by curry from the top of the key w/ no help defense from 4 knicks for a lay up, it was obvious knicks didnt come out to play.

they did what they were supposed to. let's wait to see if they can show some consistency.
