NBA Draft 2007

www.NBADraft.net

Check out the guys going for the draft this year. In my opinion, this draft is going to be a lot more exciting than last year's draft. You have Oden, Durant, Noah, Yi, Brandan and Julian Wright. They're all early draft candidates.

Many people think that Oden and Durant can 20 points during their rookie year. Also, I doubt body can can predict what's going to happen in the first 5 draft picks.

Boston might want to draft Durant if they get the first pick because as of now, Al Jefferson isn't doing that bad. But if some other team gets very lucky and drafts durant, who should they draft? Oden and Noah might be good picks, but they might have to reorganize the whole team.

Memphis-This, you can probably predict. They would most likely pick a power foward, and that means, Brandan Wright.

Philly- They're looking for rebounders.

Charlote- Charlotte is going to have a tough night at the draft. They have to pick a player that suits their type of play. They have to decide which player they're going to bench before the draft if they get who and when. But, I'm thinking it's probably going to be a power foward.

Suns- Because of a trade, they get a early 1st draft pick, and another one later in the 1st round. You think they're going to draft somebody that can run?

Warriors- Please draft somebody that can play multiple positions.

As I said, this year is going to be more exciting that last years. Last year's second round draft pick isn't half as active as the first round drafts. And the first round drafts are not satisfying. This year, the second round draft is filled with offensive players and big time rebounders. Do not, by any means, sleep on them. Quinton Hosley is going to do good, Jermareo Davidson got the sky hook, and Mustafa Shakur is going to lead these rookies in assist if he gets the minutes he deserves. Expect some very good passes from him.

Also, why is Hasheem Thabeet an early draft candidate?

please no big man projects or tweeners!
i know Jax has been filling in @ point forward, but how about a 6'7-6'8 dude who can really play some point ala Brandon Roy?

i really want a all-purpose swingman
like a Marion-type player. There are plenty of these in the draft every year and yet every year, the Warriors pass on them. Actually, Kelena and Matt Barnes are good Marion-type players... nevermind.

Warriors need a TRUE low post presence. Someone to mix it up downlow. This is what they have been needing for years...and they traded away Ike? They can make it up by drafting Al Horford from Florida ;)

boards and grit
we need some big scary doode who makes players think twice about waltzing in the lane and someone who keeps the glass extra squeky clean. we need a windex man like dwight howard or maybe Yi!
Panz Callit is the name Holla

NBADraft.net
currently has the Warriors picking Corey Brewer. It's funny, I was in the camp that wanted the W's to get Ronnie Brewer last year--this Brewer is a similar player, except better offensively, perhaps an inch taller, and has NCAA Championship experience. So I'm rooting for a Brewer two years in a row.

Reasoning: every top team has a lockdown perimeter defender, and this guy excels at D. Pietrus should have been ours, but his defense has dropped and he might not be with the team next year. Brewer just seems like a good fit--he'll get us steals and deflections, which is monumentally important for this team. We still need frontcourt rebounding and defense, but I don't see many good big men projected into our draft range.

Things change a whole lot with mock drafts come closer to June though...

anybody thinkin
jerod dudley? the guys a sav on the boards and plays beastly D. hasheem thabeet is so high on the draft boards cuz he resembles sear sene from last year. also, charlotte will likely pik up a swingman since wallace is a free agent. antother thing that wood b so cool for us to look at is to try and find a tall pg, like livingston build, which allows monta to play the 2. finally, i think we should try and get som1 in the second round whos like millsap from last year. is there any chance fazekas falls to us in the second? hes great on the boards.
the good/bad about being a warriors fan: bad: 13 years...nuff said good: there GSoM

I totally disagree
I think we need a sharpshooter.

I think we need a guy who hits jumpers day and night, and can come into a game with the second unit and score points on 3-3 from the arc and then sit down after 7 minutes having pushed the lead even further for Baron and Ellis.

We need that guy that nails the 3 every time and kills other teams if they EVER dare leave him to double Biedrins!

You can get that at 14 in the draft.  You can scout great shooting.  It's already there.  Let's not make the Dunleavey mistake and think great shooting "develops".  Find a great shooter statisticaly and use him as a great shooter off the bench to add to Nelson's mayhem and mismatches.

marco belinelli anyone?
i looked at nbadraft.net and they're comparing him to ray allen. he may be the perfect guy to come off the bench and hit a few 3s like gain on 10 said. i'd much rather have a big inside body but there doesn't seem to be too much of that at 12-16, so my next choice would be a shooter.

What Happens with the Philly Pick?
Do we get Philly's pick from this year's draft as well?  Or was it conditional?

by commish on Feb 24, 2007 2:31 PM PST reply actions

I think it was New Jersey's pick
now that I think about it.  Anyone know what's up with that?

by commish on Feb 24, 2007 5:02 PM PST up reply actions

I think
That pick was protected and we would only get it if PHilly was top 15. Since they aren't, we won't get it.

$1m pick
I think we lose that pick since Philly smartly tanked the season so early and it was lottery protected

booby prize: $1m to Cohan & Co.
