Post HERE if u think the refs screwed us AGAIN

OK THIS IS RIDICULOUS.  The Jazz did not come back and just make a natural run, they had countless forms of assistance from the refs calls against us.  The worst part was, they were inconsistent, so when the same things happened to us, we didn't get the same calls.

I'm pissed.  Leave just a brief comment, even just the words "I agree"  if you think we got screwed.

And vote too.

agree. This is so much BS. I can't believe they do this EVERY game. What's up with that?

monta's foul
changed the game, as did all the fouls they gave the jazz before this. BD got hammered several times and there was no call. What can we do? Obviously the teams with better records and superstars are gonna get the calls. We just have to keep ballin'. Bring it back to Oracle dubs! let's do this!

I concur.
Refs sucks more than Monica on Bill.

your bad
u forgot to mention that everyone was standing around watching baron, we werent moving without the ball, we hucked all these 3s at the end of the game(need to take it to the hole at that time) and also u forgot that we got dominated on the glass

it'll be funny seeing ur attitude change when we make the playoffs.

I don't think he's on the bandwagon...
but only trying to explain that even despite the refs, the warriors didn't play well the second half of the game.  The refs were letting a lot of fouls go uncalled at bad times, but on the other hand, the big difference between the first and second half was the shots weren't falling in the second.  They GSW couldn't have played any better in the first and just couldn't conjure enough shots to fall in the second.  I'm not saying it wasn't bad officiation, but why blame a variable that can't be controlled... i'd rather see the warriors win despite all opposing forces.

by david240z on Mar 20, 2007 10:09 PM PDT up reply actions

I agree with the above
Refs made some bad calls no doubt against the Warriors but if they aren't running or hitting 3's they aren't winnning

Wow thanks guys
I'd like to give a special thank you to the conservative republican representatives, zig and david24 for voicing their opinions on why the Warriors are more to blame than the refs.  I really appreciate that guys.  Go John Mccain!

Only a republican would agree there were bad calls but still not feel it affected the oucome of a 4 point game lol. Typical.

i love how
we disagree with you, and all of a sudden were republicans!(negative connotation).  We did not play well enough to win in the 4th Quarter. 1st half, definetly.  We got screwed on some calls, yes standard warrior fare.  but this BS of the whole team standing around watching baron davis, going 1 on 1 when it counts, not moving without the ball, hucking 3 pointers, and not rebounding, is WHY we lost, not the officiating.  The game was there for us to win BESIDES the officials.

nothing you will say can change his mind unless it completely agrees with everything he has to say.  get used to people flying off the handle if you post something that involves reason or logic.  Some people want to be ignorant to the fact that the warriors lose some games b/c they didn't play well.

by david240z on Mar 21, 2007 6:53 PM PDT up reply actions

OK be honest
Here it goes again...more absolutes.  You probably won't go back to the other thread because you ran out of argument, so I'll pose the question here.  You're like, what, 15?  16 at the most?  Come on bro this "all or nothing" approach is silly and it only makes you look ridiculous.  Lighten up man some people don't externalize their problems like others.

by GameSix on Mar 21, 2007 11:08 AM PDT up reply actions

15 or 16?
Don't sit there and insult!

Let's look at the context of the situation:

-Warriors get screwed
-92% of my poll agrees
-I make a post asking people to post if they think we got screwed
-A couple of ignorant young men decide to post even though they don't think the ref's screwed us and blame the Warriors

  • the original poster defends his original post which only asked for people who think the refs screwed us
  • these ignorant guys insult the poster and call him 15 or 16, and suggest he is being passive for not responding to a bunch of posts during business hours, not realizing he's a grown man and he has a real job.
You wanna know what's next?

- GSOM night, these behind their PC posters get chased out of the Oracle when confronted in person.

Just for fun
Your goofy "context of the situation":

-Warriors get screwed

Yeah, that was a shitty call in that situation.  Who disagrees with that?  The problem is you think it negates our second half offensive meltdown.  And you jump down people's throats who disagree with you.

-92% of my poll agrees

You can't add.  And even if you could, that's 90% of like 40 people.  And even if that's true, it doesn't mean that they're right.  Try again.

-A couple of ignorant young men decide to post even though they don't think the ref's screwed us and blame the Warriors

That's my fault, then.  If you don't want dissenting opinion in your diary, please put that in the title.  That way, those who are looking for intelligent discussion will know not to go there.

And, my favorite:

You wanna know what's next?
- GSOM night, these behind their PC posters get chased out of the Oracle when confronted in person.

No argument = resort to veiled threats.  Is it gonna be a cage match?  Do you wanna meet by the Warrior store?  I think by will call would be best because there's a lot of open space.

by GameSix on Mar 22, 2007 9:23 AM PDT up reply actions

That wasn't a threat bro
Calm down, like I said, some of us have real lives and are not here 24/7.  What I was trying to do is show you a pattern of how immature you are and that it's probably just behind a PC, and that you would not hold to the opinions of most fans.

This is the internet, the strange views like yours that come out on GSOM are not existent at the Oracle Arena, which is why you'd run the hell out of there.

Trust me, I don't need to threaten you bro, I got better things to do.

You're right
Clearly, you have tons better to do.  I guess digging thru my posts and putting up irrelevant quotes qualifies as "better" for you?  If you don't have an argument, that's fine.  But Warriors fans are a little more realistic/intelligent than you claim to be.  Thirteen years of futility will do that to you.  But, again, what w/your age, you've probably only been a conscious warrior fan for about 5 years.

But hey, you have better things to do, right?

by GameSix on Mar 23, 2007 7:50 AM PDT up reply actions

You're a hypocrite
Besides the fact that you're immature, rude, and have to resort to insults without merit, you're also a hypocrite.  Oh and you're also a scaredy cat because you thought I was threatening you and immediately resorted to directly threatening me, when all I said is you would get chased out of the Oracle if you expressed these negative views at a Warrior game.  And to the contrare, YOU digged through MY posts, sometimes replying to me several times before giving me a few hours to respond, and now you turn around and say that I HAVE nothing better to do than respond to you?

LOL This whole beef started when YOU attacked me on another diary about why the commentators shouldn't stick up for the Warriors or be biased for them, because in your mind, a losing team doesn't deserve any bias from their home announcers, so YOU're the angry one with issues dude.

I think I REALLY REALLY ticked you off when I actually stepped up to your attacks and then was able to figure you out and what you stand for.  I remember things.  After I labeled some guys that didn't want to acknowledge any referee errors as republicans, you went off again.  Hmm... funny cuz I didn't even direct that comment at YOU?  But it set you off Mr. Angry man.

I apologize, you should know that most of the Bay Area are not republicans, but I guess it really hurt you and bothered you that a GROWN MAN on GSoM had the nerve to call out a few people with a political accusation.  So you stepped in!   Did it make you question yourself and your character?  Are you a little ashamed that you've resorted to ultra negativity and pessimism in order to keep your sanity as a Warrior fan? I've been a fan since the 80's my brutha, but if you want to continue labeling me as a child (even though I've told you I'm not) just because you have nothing else to say, go ahead.  Heck, next time, call me 11 or 12!

Here's a [not so] NEW idea! Make the same arguments over and over.

Let me save you trouble.  I'll write your response:

[copy and paste below]

"You make no sense, you're not a Warrior fan, you're not intelligent or high school educated, some of us have endured the losing, you're only 13!?"

of course
if u watched the game u would agree

by AJC3317 on Mar 20, 2007 9:42 PM PDT reply actions

Agreed
But what do you all think about the "rim conspiracy" the announcers talked about?  A lot of shots rattled out on the Jazz in the first half, and in the second half the Dubs couldn't buy a bucket (both using the basket on the left on screen).  Anyone else think that the two rims weren't tightened quite the same?

I'm not saying the Jazz staff intentionally sabotaged the Warriors (to end the Jazz's losing streak?), but I couldn't help noticing how nicely the basket on the right of the screen kept swishing while the basket on the left kept clanking -- seemed more than fatigue and defensive adjustments could account for.

by Ghostface Warrior on Mar 20, 2007 9:59 PM PDT reply actions

I Don't know...
about a "conspiracy" but i'm sure it made a difference. anyone who has played in the park on some nasty double rims knows how tough it can be to shoot on a tight rim. I think it hurt the W's momentum in the 2nd half (almost as much as the refs).

by olympicmike on Mar 22, 2007 3:15 PM PDT up reply actions

It just wasn't the bad calls
they started calling fouls like every 30 seconds in the fourth quarter, sending the game into a grinding halt: a pace we can't play well at for consistent stretches.

I couldn't belive Jax picked up 5 fouls in the fourth to foul out.

by racsan on Mar 20, 2007 10:16 PM PDT reply actions

yes somewhat
But also we must note that in crunch time, the warriors just gave the ball to a player and basically played streetball. Each player would take a turn at trying to create something. There was no team game. And shooting 5-18 in the 4th didn't help

by ohad on Mar 20, 2007 10:18 PM PDT reply actions

yea i agree
the refs messed up the game if they call a loose ball foul on the jazz the first possesion of the 4th quarter we would have went down the court and get a score but no they gave it the ball to the jazz and the jazz score dam stupid refs

by Warrior fan 23 on Mar 20, 2007 10:46 PM PDT reply actions

yup, the w's get worst 'whistle' in the league
but let's face it - that's not changing. i was kind of expecting it tonight - especially in utah where the officials seem to fear the fans.

but dubs lost b/c of
j-rich's 0-7 game ending stretch,
jazz bench dominated the dubs bench,

and the d let them down. in the last 6 wins, there always seemed to be a quarter where the dubs would lock the other team down and hold them under 20. tonight, there was no such quarter. on top of that, jazz had 32 assists and way to many points in the paint that kept them in the game (52.7% is way too high to give up on the road).

hopefully, it was just an off-game mentally on d for the dubs and not deron, fish, & co. picking the warriors apart.

by the evil monkey on Mar 20, 2007 11:01 PM PDT reply actions

The Jazz were on too...
You could tell that they had been on a long losing streak on the road and were ready to kick butt at home.  They were firing on all cylinders and were probably pretty surprised that the Warriors were actually in the game.  Boozer was as good as I've ever seen him, Williams was clutch and Millsap was hitting threes.  If we played them three months ago and they were playing like this, we would of lost by thirty.

We get to see them one more time this year at home.  We will get our revenge because they won't get the calls they did in the final quarter from the refs.

Funny side note:  Jazz fans were also somehow complaining about the refs.  They hated the charge call on Boozer when he ran right into Biedrens, along with some play where Williams got poked in the eye by Davis (I think it happened after DWill called a to).  They were also furious that SJax didn't get a technical.  I think 5 fouls in one quarter is bad enough.

As far as I know, the refs have been
screwing the Dubs since I became a fan in 1980 with Lewis Lloyd, Chris Engler, and Joe Hassett. Could you make me a web pin that shows 1980 instead?

Anyway, back to the subject, the refs screwing us won't change at all. They even favor lesser-known, less-talented teams like Atlanta. It's just the way it is. I probably concentrate on the officiating more than anyone. So I can confidently tell you REFS SUCK!

by MANUTEs BOLs on Mar 21, 2007 10:13 AM PDT up reply actions

That "foul" they called on Ellis
would look like shyte even in Boys/Girls Club leage bball.  But no matter how bad that call was, no referee's call can overshadow baron's dribble off his own leg, nor our stagnant offense in the 4th q.  There's no more time for moral victories man we gotta find away to win these close games.

by GameSix on Mar 21, 2007 11:13 AM PDT reply actions

I Agree
we got screwed by the refs AGAIN. Just like always.
But at the same time we could have played better.
There are two things that could have led us to a win... us playing a little better, or the refs calling a fair game.
When you look at it this way, dubs DID play good enough to win the game, and if the refs hadnt screwed us, then we would have.
There were more than enough bad calls to make up for 5 points.

by ilubthedubs on Mar 21, 2007 12:20 PM PDT reply actions

The Warriors should
turn into a hard-core, bad-a$$ team and always break the rules and get flagrant fouls on everyone! And get millions of technical fouls! that'll show the refs we deserve some respect... okay I was just kidding. but remember this game: Wizards win by one on three free throws with .1 seconds left. Screw all you refs!
Rollin into the playoffs like a fat guy rolls into McDonalds!
