Recap: Warriors 122, Grizz 117 - Bear of a Win!

Well this game wasn't on FSN, FSN plus, ESPN, TNT, NBA TV, or even League Pass ... so this is how a GSoM member improvises when his back is up against the wall.

He uses his fantastic news sources. I'm not talking about ESPN, CNN or SI, I'm talking about the people who really know ... our GSoM members.

Thanks to Noob for his wonderful recap and David240z for putting on his lucky shirt, the Warriors were able to pull out the victory today against the Memphis Grizzlies.

We only have 8 games left and we are sitting a game and a half behind 8th place. This is going to be a real stretch for us to make the playoffs but I'm trying to be as positive as possible. Let's just all be thankful we had a better day then gswrico! Sorry you had to go through that.

So here is a quick recap of the game I didn't get to see:

1)    Baron Davis gets ejected in the first quarter for chewing gum. He became the first player in league history to get a T for this new offense (passed last year), and then was thrown out as he argued the call (peppermint never hurt anyone!).

2)    Grizz tried a new type of defense called "Play Dead" in the fourth which helped us out a lot.

3)    Reuters just sourced that Barnes, JRich and Ellis were all fined tonight $10,000 each, for betting on today's game. The wager to a fan is now confirmed that they could score all three jersey number's combined. Apparently they failed by one point ending with a combined 52, not 53. A fan in front row walked away with $300.

4)    TMNT awkwardly stood in this pose for 7 minutes straight. Great photo-op but come on.

My goal for this week is to stay positive. I want to believe we can pull this out, but we're going to need a lot of help from the Nuggets and Clippers to lose. Here's my favorite Family Guy clip. Completely random but this is what I watch since no one invited me to today's game.

Tonight's Warrior Wonder goes to JRich no doubt. He's been on fire for the past two games and I'm so happy to see he's finally back to his old ways. He had 26 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds.

Next game is in Houston on Wednesday! GO WARRIORS!

man...
am I only one that thinks it's getting hard to stay optimistic? While we have been winning our games so far, the other teams have been winning as well.  I've been believing all season, but with only several games left(almost half of them being tough games), reality is starting to take over for me.  Maybe I need to go to another game to be convinced other wise...

I'd rather have 41 Wins and miss the playoffs
than have 37 wins and make it. So it doesn't concern me. If they hit 41, they've proved themselves to me.

Today's win
the GSW can only control the games they play in, we just have to stay hopeful that they keep winning while the other teams suffer a tough schedule.  Although we have a hard schedule ahead of us as well, it could be a lot worse.  Anything can happen in the NBA, if we go to the playoffs great, if we don't, I still feel that with the trade and all, the GSW will come out that much hungrier for post seasons games for next season as they are getting a taste of being part of a race in the western conference.

tough win
The Warriors prove once again that without Baron, they struggle tremendously. Today's game was probably the least challenging out of the remaining schedule.

denver and the clips play
each other.  denver plays the mavs too.  do you think cuban has them give one to denver to avoid playing us?

personally
i dont think thats an option.  They arent going to throw a game just for the possibility of not facing us in the first round.  It's possible that dallas will play denver in the first round.  If Denver gets a win over Dallas at the end of the season, it will give them momentum going into the playoffs.  And And, although we've won the last 4 against dallas, id bet they are pretty confident that they can beat us in a 7 game series and would rather play us than the nuggets.

gum
T'd up for chewing gum... ridiculous.

As long as he's not spitting it on the court it shouldn't be a problem

Ronald Reagan was a jerk.

Uhmm...
He was T'ed for complaining about Chucky Haye's travel no-call, then during the timeout he slapped the scorer's table, causing the candy on the table to fly off (the table was padded apparently). The ref thought he threw the candy.

what's the point of filming the game?
I don't see why they filmed the game if it wasn't shown anywhere. Just so we can see highlights on sportscenter and local news? Seems like a waste of resources.

i think its a joke
though it would've made it better if it was posted on April 1st.

Like Jrich, Monte and Barnes being fined for betting with fans, ala Arenas a week ago. If it was real don't you think the local papers would've picked up on it, or even espn?

I believe the only crack down with gum the league have this year was no chewing gum during the national anthem.
