Warriors in the Playoffs... on FSN BAY AREA!

As soon as the national TV playoff schedule was released, I joked with Fantasy Junkie that the Warriors are now on TNT and ESPN more times than they've been on all season. It's definitely fun when the Warriors are on national TV (the Dubs and their fans finally get some attention, we're treated to a bunch of analysts who know virtually nothing about the Warriors and aren't shy about showing their lack of knowledge, and the Dubs always put on their best show), BUT there's nothing like watching the Warriors on FSN Bay Area with Bob Fitzgerald, Jim Barnett, Glen Kuiper, Matt Steinmetz, and the rest of the behind the scenes crew. Thankfully, the Warriors WILL make a rare playoff appearance on FSN Bay Area.

Here's an excerpt from FSN Bay Area's press release:

ADD:

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS PLAYOFF BASKETBALL

FSN BAY AREA

Game #1 Sunday, April 22nd at 6:30 PM Warriors @ Dallas Mavericks

FSN BAY AREA

Game #4 Sunday, April 29th at 7:00 PM Dallas Mavericks @ Warriors

Notes:

If San Jose Sharks/Nashville Predators Game #6 on April 22nd is necessary, the Warriors/Mavericks Game #1 will move to FSN PLUS.

If the Sharks are scheduled for a second-round playoff game on FSN BAY AREA on April 29 and conflicts with Warriors/Mavericks Game #4, Warriors/Mavericks will move to FSN PLUS.

ALL Warriors/Mavericks playoff games also available on ESPN or TNT.

We've watched the Warriors on FSN Bay Area through the dark times. Now it's time to watch them on our favorite Warriors' TV station BEAT THE MAVS IN THE PLAYOFFS!

Remember watching this one on FSN Bay Area last season?

(Did anyone besides Mike Montgomery not crack a smile?)

i think this is awesome
both on national and fsnbay?  awesome!

i'm really happy for bob and jim the most, they've been calling warriors for so damn long with so many disappointing seasons.  now they get to call a playoff game, they should be happy.

no away games?
well, i'd LOVE to watch the W's on FSN (especially if they broadcast them in HD), but I'll be in the ORACLE for the home games, so I don't need to watch it on TV. They don't plan to broadcast the away games on FSN??

Game #1 Sunday, April 22nd at 6:30 PM Warriors @ Dallas Mavericks

I freaking BETTER get on TV then!

Anyway, it's supercool becasue everyone is still underestimating us. And we get to hear more Bob and Jim!

This is the way it should be
These guys have been through all the tough times as well and certainly deserve to call a playoff game. Bob and Jim are the best in the biz and probably should be doing the national tv broadcast.

NO THANKS - I prefer National Airtime (in HD)
I'd always pick HD over anything else.  Plus this is what we've always wanted, is national coverage and respect.

I can't believe I'm alone on this one?  AM I?

what the?
of course i know fox sports has HD bro, lol, i was referring to the actual dallas/golden state playoffs on fsn.

If you look at the quote posted, there will be other games on at the same time, and the warriors game might be on fsn plus, so that means it won't be on HD cuz if they did use HD it would probably be for Sharks. i'm sure theres a chance, but there's no guarantee.

tnt/espn is a guarantee.  plus a chance of marv albert would be sweeeeet.  i can't get that "oh andris biedrins!!" out of my head from the phoenix game.

Anybody remember Papa calling Sleepy?
Fitz is terrible.  He's a Sabercat announcer- in the Bay Area.  Enough said.  He's second-rate.  Too bad the San Jose Sky Rockets left for Manitoba or North Dakota or wherever.  Fitz could have joined them since he likes announcing minor league sports.  He's second rate.

Barnett is great.  He's truly been through it all.  Time Roye is solid.  I think he should have replaced Fitz years ago.

I'll watch anybody on ABC/ESPN over Fitz- unless it's Mark Jackson.

oh duh
FSN BAY AREA

Game #1 Sunday, April 22nd at 6:30 PM Warriors @ Dallas Mavericks

The first game they are broadcasting is game #1 IN DALLAS. Guess I should have read that a little closer. So, it looks like they are picking up both Sunday games.

Bob Fitzgerald, Jim Barnett,
"and the rest of the behind the crew. Thankfully, the Warriors WILL make a rare playoff appearance on FSN Bay Area."

Great news, Playoffs with uncle Barnett what could top that? we'll be so high we'll go 3 for 1 at the end of quarters.

I will
watch on FSN because it will probably be in HD. For some reason, I don't get TNT HD. It says I need to pay for it even though I already have regular TNT. That's BS. The only game on ESPN is the one I'm going to.

by DaAzNJRiCh on Apr 19, 2007 9:57 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

both are in hd right? tnt and fsn
tivo one, watch the other...i know you guys are true fans...someone tell me they're not taping each and every game? i already set the time.

barnett and fitz is great by the way, and i do love them. i listen to fitz and brooks every day during my lunchbreak, i got through once this year also to talk to them. but i'll be recording the national ones...we don't hear the voices of the real announcers, however stupid or bad they may be, talking about the warriors. remember the phoenix game on tnt where barkley told kenny the suns won't ever lead in the game again? taht was a great feeling, and i want to have something like that on wax.

are you sure its with bob and jim
or are they just going to show the tnt one on fsn

by stevenro59 on Apr 19, 2007 10:34 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

woo
I will TiVo both, but or course, I will watch Bob and Fitz first!  Too bad they don't have the option of both channels for every game.
