I think it's time for one big Marv Albert:

OH MY!

Game 4 Rewind [NBATV]

This series is far from over, but I'm expecting the Warriors to finish off the Dallas Mavericks for a monumental upset.

THIS!

Still, there is a very recent precedent of a higher rated seed in the NBA Playoffs coming back from a 1-3 deficit to win a 1st round playoff series. Last season Kobe, Phil and the rest of the LA Fakers were up 3-1 on Steve "what's defense?" Nash and the Phoenix Sunny Delight. It looked like the Lakers were about to pull off a big time upset (nothing like this Warriors' series with the Mavs, of course), but then they went Sprewell and choked big time. SBNation Hoops brother Wes unfortunately knows exactly what I'm talking about.

But in the end it really boils down to what Matt Steinmetz noted post game 4 on KNBR. Dating back to last season the Warriors have beaten the Mavericks 9 out of 11 times. So now the Mavs are going to win three straight against the Warriors including one in Oakland? Um, don't think so.

Not in our house.

And with that we drop these URL's like BD dropping last second buzzer beaters:

I had to let that fool have it. I encourage the rest of you to do the same!!

The Warriors are here now and there's a lot of haters who wish we weren't!

I love this series
We're finally getting respect from a majority of NA fans. =)

Yes, there's Barkley and other ppl who still don't respect the Warriors, but the truth is, we've really converted a lot of ppl...to the point that we're getting a LOT of bandwagon fans.

You know what else is so totally soft about Irk
He plays to the rules.  He goes up for shots looking for the call rather than the bucket (though he does make a lot of them).  He might as well be playing soccer in Europe.  It's pathetic and you can tell that the refs are finally getting sick of it.  Dude, play ball!

I don't think you appreciate what's happenin here?   Dirk is not bad, the Warriors are just playing out of their mind ball now. That's what makes it so special, if Dirk was really Irk it wouldn't be any fun.

Jessica Alba Pictures
You can find lots of Alba pics (with proper recognition) in the Jessica Alba picture madness diary.

Atma (conveniently) forgot to give props on that diary.  =)

Haha
Yeah, that diary was a hit!

As you can probably imagine the GSoM crew is really starting to get burnt out and short on time. I wish I could link to all the diaries with all the great links like we always try to do, but with the playoff craze we just gotta get stuff up fast.

Dampier
Is anyone else kind of upset that no one dunked on Dampier's grill in Oakland?  It was the one thing missing from these games at the Oracle.  Would have been the cherry on one hell of a sundae.

Not a Hater, Just a Mavs Fan
Thanks for the link guys, but just to clarify, I don't hate the Warriors, I'm just a bitter Mavs fan who's on the verge of seeing a 67-win season go down the drain in the first round.

It's even more frustrating when you consider the fact that Golden State is the one freaking team that Dallas can't match up with, and if it wasn't for the Clippers not showing up for a Sunday afternoon home game against Sacramento, the Warriors wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

Um okay
From your last piece:
Would You Pay $72 For This T-Shirt? [about the golden Warriors We Believe shirt] Some fool did exactly that. The Golden State Warriors bandwagon is officially out of control, with the give away "WE BELIEVE" shirt from Game 3 going for $72 on eBay. So not only are Warriors fans loud, but now they're rich and stupid too?

Seems like some serious hating to me.

It's all in good fun, but you're joking if you don't consider that or your other takes on the series hating. You've given the Warriors and their fans NO RESPECT. Call it a bandwagon, but the Oakland Arena has always been loud and Warrior fans have always been loyal.

I have to say I'm sick of Mavs fans calling this team and its fanbase a bunch thugs. That's so far from the truth. You went ahead and called Warrior fans "rich and stupid" as well. So what is it? I just see some serious hating from Mavs fans and the Dallas media.

it wasn't just the Clips who didn't show up
Dallas had their destiny in their own hands and could have put a full squad against Golden State, but decided to pack it in.  But maybe Avery realized they might not have wanted to go into the playoffs having just lost against the Warriors again, when they were trying...

by walkerp on May 1, 2007 9:27 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I should add
if it wasn't for the Clippers not showing up for a Sunday afternoon home game against Sacramento, the Warriors wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

You might want to do your homework. The Clips lost that game and their last game as well. Their final record was 40-42, while the Warriors' was 42-40. That's a 2 game difference my friend. The Warriors would have made the playoffs even if the Clippers showed up that Sunday afternoon.

by Atma Brother ONE on May 1, 2007 9:31 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You're correct, but...
Technically that's true, but the Clips were doing some serious scoreboard watching that last game, and once GSW was beating the hell out of Portland they pretty much packed it in. They definitely would have been able to take out a depleted NOOCH team if the game mattered.

And I was TOTALLY joking with the "rich and stupid" remark, I thought you guys in the bay area had thicker skin than that!  Just venting a little. Imagine if the Warriors were the one seed getting killed by an eight seed, I'm guessing you'd be a little bitter too.  ESPECIALLY considering that the whole world is rooting for GSW, that's not helping my mood any.

Yup, just like they took out the tanking Kings right? I'm loving your revisionist history.  I didn't realize Mavs' journey to the NBA Finals was so deeply tied to the Clippers.

How about we talk about THIS series?

And I was TOTALLY joking with the "rich and stupid" remark, I thought you guys in the bay area had thicker skin than that!  Just venting a little.

Wait- so you're joking, but you're "venting"?

I don't think so man. Look- hate all you want. It's all good. But don't try to play it off when you get embarrassed. Looks like a certain Mavs fan has such "thin skin" that they have to go over to a Warriors blog and try to salvage their image.

Imagine if the Warriors were the one seed getting killed by an eight seed, I'm guessing you'd be a little bitter too.

Haha, the Warriors as the 1 seed? That's just not how we do it around here.

I'm sure I'd be upset if the opposite was happening to the Warriors, but I wouldn't be hating like you've been and dissing the Warriors and their fans.

So because Warrior fans are more passionate and loyal than Mavs' fans they're "stupid"? That's just foolish.

Keep sippin' that haterade. You're keeping us all entertained.

by Atma Brother ONE on May 1, 2007 11:04 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Damn Brett
You're more salty than bitter. but i guess being upset means throwing away all analytical logics whatsoever. To claim that that the Warriors are winning purely by "pulling shots out of their asses" means that the Warriors are purely winning by "luck" alone or that these "lucky" shots are what keep the Warriors in the game. I doubt lucky shots can win you 3 playoff games in a row like this or in the convincing fashion like in game 3. What seems most interesting to me is how after the Warriors lost game 2, the GSoM community put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the team (and some of the officiating), not blaming the Mavs for being something they shouldn't be. The Mavs are supposed to be a dominant team, but its obvious that they must be doing a lot more than what they're doing now besides waiting for the Warriors luck to run out, which seems to be your logic.
