Bye Bye Rod

It looks like Jordan succesfully took away Rod Higgins. It is really confusing to think what this actually means for the front office.

Who do you want to step into his job? I think if nelson stays he should be given the GM title. He drafts great and he might as well already have the title with all the pull he has.

We should bring in...
How about Victor Alexander or Chris Gatling? LOL  Rod was cool and all, but the GM position should go to someone who has played or if not played is a person who can balance a checkbook and realize that multi-million dollar deals should go to guys who deserve it-not dudes like Adonal or Dunleavy(Not you Rod, but your predecessors).  Where's the loyalty though Rod? Looks like the Barnes situation that is around the corner.  Take the worst franchise in North American sports over the last 14 years and take them to the playoffs all to leave for a little more $$$ and the fact you can spend MJ's money and ride his coat tails like you have for EVER-"I played with Mike for 8 months, so he's like a good friend."  Just busting Rod's chops, I wish people would stick around and build off their success as opposed to leaving and taking more money just when you start to get better.  Can you blame them, its hard not to blame them, its just deflating...Please stay Matt Barnes!!!

you know
i often wondered WHAT rod actually did?? It seemed like Mullin was pulling all the GM duties anyway. Don't get me wrong, I have much love for Rod since he's an ex-warrior. But, I don't think the the bball operations will miss a beat. Good call on the Nellie angle...this could be a move to pave the way for him to take over as GM...and allow Keith Smart to coach. Or, could this be an opportunity for Mitch Richmond to step up?? He is currently Mully's "special assistant", which is exactly how Mullin started under Saint. Very interesting. My guess is that they will have to address all this before the draft.

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.

Jerry West
is 69. That's why he's not going to the Lakers...he wants to retire from all the work.
