The game was close in the end and on the road you can't ask for a whole lot more. The Warriors gave themselves a great chance to win the game, but ended up just short. If Stephen Jackson's 3 goes slightly left, we might be talking about a Warriors win. He's come up huge for us before and will no doubt again, he's not going to make them all, I guess. The Jazz kept their home court advantage and the Warriors will just have to come back and try to steal game 2.
Two great games by two great PG's

Henry Abbott (5/8/2007 at 1:14 AM): It's insanely fun to watch. Both teams are fast-breaking like crazy. Great point guard duel. Lots of made baskets. If you have friends who don't like basketball, make them watch this series, and they stand an excellent chance of being converted.

Debunking the Myths: Jazz vs Warriors [Utah Jazz Blog]

There’s no sense in sugarcoating the Warriors’ Game 1 loss. It was a close game that they easily could have won, but for some costly mental mistakes and clutch play by the Jazz. Equally, there’s no sense in blowing it out of proportion. It was a game the Jazz needed to win to keep home court and avoid a disastrous start to the series. The Jazz held serve, but needed huge games from their key players to do it. The good and the bad, after the jump.
The Jazz’s Game 1 performance was almost the exact opposite of the Mavs opener. The Jazz protected the hoop, punished us physically, owned the boards and hit big shots repeatedly from the outside. The Warriors lived by the three in Round 1, Game 1. Monday night they died by it. Still, the Jazz don’t necessarily have the versatility of the Mavs. What we saw from Sloan and Co. in Game 1 is what we’ll be getting all series (if the Jazz are lucky). It’s now up to Nellie to figure out a way to coach his schmoes past it.

Check out Monta's new And1 commercial. They said...
We need to get some production out of Monta. Al has revived his game, so hopefully Game 2 is where Monta makes a comeback. He's quicker than all of the Utah guards so should be able to get in the paint. Let's go Monta!
