Sarunas Says Hello to $4 Million

Extraordinary Warrior cheerleader Sarunas Jasikevicius re-upped with the team by picking up his $4 million player option for next season. He never really panned out for Nellieball despite his very intriguing throwback first name. Given his 3rd string status, $4 million expiring contract, and the fact that he's not one of the worst players in the league by any stretch (the same can't be said for fan favorite Adonal Foyle), Sarunas is probably the most likeliest current Warrior to be playing elsewhere coming November. The Raptors and Rockets seem to be the two teams most interested in Sarunas, but hopefully the Warriors can use his expiring deal as part of a larger package to net a much bigger fish (ahem, K to the G).

Where you do think Sarunas will wind up?

Sarunas should go
to Houston as a SG. Houston is already loaded at the PG spot. He could serve as a valuable backup 3 pt. shooter.

Houston
Rockets sound like another great destination possibility, even though "Walk-it-up" Van Gundy is gone. (Not like Adelman is an uptempo coach) But I don't see him playing the 2 there....newly acquired Mike James is the closest thing to a legitimate 1, but as far as point guard skeelz, Sarunas is much better than Luther Head or Skip to my Lou, and it's too early to tell with John Lucas III. Not to mention any of those guys, especially Alston, could easily more to the off guard position more frequently if they bring in Sarunas to back up James. But if we get Bobby Sura back I'm going to be disappointed, unless he goes for another self made triple double. Then I won't be so much disappointed as sad and embarrassed.

he wasn't to successful in IND either
He might be to slow for the NBA

I do hope he has so value to trade as he is never playing here

Also of note...
Bobcats stud swingman Gerald Wallace and our favorite former little man, Earl Boykins, have opted out of their respective contracts and will be unrestricted free agents on July 1. I have a feeling both are going to be seeking outlandish deals, but either would fit in great with the Dubs' uptempo style. I know quite a few of you GSOMers are fond of Wallace, and Boykins is obviously a great change-of-pace guy at the backup point guard spot. Thoughts?
