Bring Back Boykins!

Despite how much we might want it to happen, it's going to be incredibly tough for the Warriors to Bring KG to the Bay or fulfill The Yi Movement. It might be time to look at some more realistic options to make this team better and turn up the fun meter a few more notches (if that was even possible).

The solution:

KILL ELEPHANTS.
(figuratively speaking, not literally of course)

Look at that little fella/
He's got enough poison in him to kill an elephant/
That's right- An Elephant.

PG: Earl Boykins (5'5)
SG: Monta Ellis (6'3)
SF: Baron Davis (6'3)
PF: Jason Richardson (6'6)
C: Stephen Jackson (6'8)

NBA Champs 2k8

Okay, okay I'm being half serious- or maybe I'm half joking? Either way that lineup is, as former Warrior great Marc Jackson would say, simply Unstoppable Baby!

In all seriousness free agent point guard Earl Boykins' speed, sweet shooting, and pesky D would be an intriguing fit for Nellieball. He's the perfect change of pace player to be a real deal backup point guard for Baron Davis. There's a lot to like about this former Eric Musselman and Warriors Nation favorite. I'm curious how much Boykins and his agent are looking for on the free agent market.

Props to freespree for igniting the Bring Back Boykins Bonanza.

Should the Warriors bring back Boykins?

Yea
Boykins is a good player, and if we dont draft a PG in the draft we should get him to back up Baron Davis. Boykins always plays his heart out and never complains. I like his attitude and he has really amazing skills for his height.

i like it
but i'm afraid he may try and command too much than we're able to spend. if he'll accept the MLE it will come down to who we'd rather have, boykins or barnes. i think if i had to make a decision i'd rather sign barnes and then draft a backup pg

no money
to spend on him unfortunately unless you would rather have him then barnes. Barnes seems like the most logical choice because monta I believe will be able to handle the backup pg duties next year.

boykins isn't worth it
Boykins became a free agent to try and receive a big contract, and obviously, the Warriors don't have the money to pay a lot for a free agent. Plus, Boykins is not worth big money. I agree that signing Barnes is more important, and hopefully there's a good backup to draft on Thursday.

BIG E!
Yes, he would be a perfect fit for Nellie ball. Although I dont think we have enough money to spread around at this point unless Mully can pull a Mully and con someone into taking Foyle for an expiring contract. Then it would be feasable. But too bad, not enough green right now at the moment...as far as him not being worth it, Im not sure what that guys really talking about. Hes a spark plug off the bench. Any great team has a man like that.

Earl Boykins
bench presses more than Kevin Durant.
Ronald Reagan was a jerk.

I love Earl Boykins. I regret not buying his (Warriors) jersey when I had the chance.

Bench Press
I heard this crazy thing that Earl Boykins could bench 200+ pounds. That's nuts!

i really like boykins and all
but seeing how it is all about matchups, don't you think that we would have matchup problems when he is on the court as his height basically makes him a liability at times.

No Way
I have seen enough of boykins and dont want him back. He, for some reason thinks shoot first pass later, and is in love with over dribbling and getting his shot. Andhe is a complete defensive liability. We just got rid of the worst liability on the team last off season in fisher, why would we do that to ourselves. Nice guy, but no thanks, dont need a novelty
