Around SBN: The cost of firing vs. the cost of retaining head coaches

With the 16th pick in the 2k7 Draft, the Washington Wizards take...

Nick Young!

Good thing the Wizards are loaded up front and low on swingmen/ guards. (sarcasm) Seriously this is really a "Washington Warriors" type move.

Actually
It's the opposite, Atma.

Up front, the Wizards have a ton of guys under contract.  They have Jamison, Songaila, Haywood, Etan Thomas, and probably Andray Blatche.  Maybe not a lot of quality, but a ton of quantity.

In the backcourt, the only guys under contract are Arenas, Daniels, and Caron Butler.  DeShawn Stevenson and Jarvis Hayes are free agents, as are Roger Mason and Donnell Taylor.  The Wizards don't exactly have the best cap situation either.

This is an excellent pick, and it really does fill a need.
