LA Times rumor regarding Dubs and KG

Just got this in my email from CBS Sportslines's Rumor Mill:

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
The winner of the Kevin Garnett trade sweepstakes could possibly feature a dark horse in the Golden State Warriors. After acquiring the draft rights of Brandan Wright in a trade with the Charlotte Bobcats for Jason Richardson, the Warriorrs are possibly putting a package deal to bring Garnett in Sunny California, reports the Los Angeles Times. The Times reports that the package includes Wright, Andris Biedrins and Monte Ellis.

Here's what I could dig up on the LA Times website

Garnett, sought by the Lakers and Phoenix Suns in multi-team talks that broke down this week, may still be traded ... with speculation now centering on the Golden State Warriors.

Whether it was part of a deal the Warriors are working on with Minnesota or not, they traded guard Jason Richardson to Charlotte for North Carolina's Brandan Wright, a promising young big man whom the Bobcats drafted at No. 8.

The Warriors may now offer Wright with center Andris Biedrins and guard Monta Ellis and enough salary to make the deal work to Minnesota for Garnett.

If this is part of Mullie and Nellie's grand plan then we're going to the Playoffs now and sacrificing the future by giving away all of our young guns.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

did you read the rules of the forum?
Try to express your thoughts without using offensive language.  I'm sure you're smart enough to think of other words to use than the 4 letter ones, if I'm wrong, at least I gave you the benefit of the doubt.

Seems that Awesomer was right and this sight has become a joke.  Plus a lot of new people have joined the forum that either don't understand the reasons behind what happened yesterday or just don't care to listen.  Although getting KG would be nice, nobody wants to give up both Beans and Ellis, it just won't happen.  Jrich was taking up a lot of money so when they let him go, they opened the door to options.  KG is not completely out of the picture, but I think the trade is far from being realistic.

With the money they saved why would they want to pick up G. Wallace or any free agent at that, just to fill another slot that they don't need to be filled.  Inside and post presence is what the GSW need, so just stop with all the nonsense talk about how the warriors need to add 3-4 more swingmen after they just got rid of one.

Im on the
just not Beans train. Harrinton sure but a front court of Beans and KG is what we need to make this deal work for us.

No Way in Hell
that I'm making that trade. Recall that since he's been drafted, no player in the NBA has logged as many minutes as Kevin Garnett--and it's not even close--as one of the guys on the draft broadcast said last night, "there's not a lot of tread left on that tire". Wright, Beans, AND Ellis? For somebody as grating and high-strung as KG? Somebody Stephen Jackson will end up choking in a few months? This sounds like a nervous GM trying to dupe other teams into thinking there's more interest out there than there really is, a la that supposed "deal on the table" involving BD, AB, and Ellis for Iverson a few months back. Don't believe the hype. I think McHale finally realizes he probably won't even get 75 cents on the dollar for KG--he'll be lucky to get fifty--so get used to these sorts of rumors as we're going to be hearing an awful lot of them in the near future...

Those three are TOO much
Those three players would set up Minnesota to absolutely dominate in the future.  They'd have a couple loosing seasons while the younger players still developed and would pick up lottery picks to add to:

Foye
Monta
Brewer
Wright
Andris

Thats a ridiculous lineup.  It's also not going to happen.

Don't forget that Minnesota has 3 guards on their roster set to make a lot of money over the next 4 years: Hassel, Hudson, and Jaric.  If the warriors were to take back one of these players Minnesota might lower its demands.

NO WAY
thats the most lop sided deal for minny if i ever saw one. Honestly i wouldn't trade any of em' for KG now. He's just not worth it at this point. You get him for what, 1 year before he opts out?? where does that leave the warriors?

agreed, but
no one makes a deal for KG without working out an extension as part of the process, no one with any brains anyway

Without Cassell
there's no way that Minny team makes it to the Western Finals. Just add that to the list of crappy teams SamIAm has put on his back and taken to the playoffs over the years: the pre-J Kidd Nets, the Bucks, the Clippers (?!!). Look what's happened to the Wolves since he got traded? How much of a franchise player can you be if you can't even make it to the playoffs? If you miss the playoffs, in fact, three years in a row? I'm so over Garnett right now. I have no idea why Phoenix is even entertaining the idea of shipping out Stoudamire to get him. When was the last time you saw KG put up 43 and 20 on the Spurs in the playoffs? Even if Amare's knees explode in two years, that's still worth more than having KG for one year...

not beans
i'd throw in, harrington, Monta, Wright (plus a pick)
