GSoM YouTube, Tuesday: The short end of the stick speaks.

Once upon a time there was a trade between the Pacers and the Warriors. And all of the Bay Area rejoiced, for they saw that it was good! For gifted up us was Stephen Jackson, in all of his glory and passion. And behold, we were given Al Harrington, who played a solid role in our success in the 06-07 season.

Yet perhaps the biggest reason to throw our arms up in joy stemmed from the cleansing of our team from giant contracts belonging to substandard players. And we saw that it was good.

As the Bay sipped on the sweet nectar of benefit, the basketball universe turned to Indiana and in one voice cried out, "Dude. Seriously?!"

Below are their answers. Ironically, they are as substandard as the players they received.

Enjoy your "rebounding"!!

UPDATE: Okay this has NOTHING to do with basketball. But it just came across my desk and it’s… well… it’s just fantastic.

That second clip
I'm speechless.. How can a human being be so dumb?

by ramiism on Aug 28, 2007 1:28 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

she was on the "today show" this morning
and this is what happened:

http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/thebigblog/archives/120789.asp

she sounds like a robot with some of those answers..just spitting out scripted responses.

she doesn't need a brain tho, she fine as hell..

talk about stupid
That is what I was thining listening to the first clip when the Pacer twins were passing the KY jelly back and forth to make sure they didn't choke on their pathetic opinions about relative talent.  I mean that clip is far funnier than some poor 18 year old blond hick who doesn't know Iraq from other Asian countries.  Donny and Larry should know better but thank goodness they are idiots as well.
You call me ancient, I say "oldguysrule"

Wow
Think she can locate the USA or South Carolina on the map?

lol
apparently she thought using words like "such as" and "therefore" about 6 times per sentence would make u sound smarter

by AJC3317 on Aug 28, 2007 2:45 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm guessing
Her speech coach told her she should avoid saying "like" and replace it as much as possible with "such as." The might explain the part around 0:18 when she randomly blurts out "such as" --at the end of a sentence...

Nellie vs. Byrd
Wasn't there an interview (post-playoff but pre-draft) on here the other day where Nellie said Harrington was more a 3 than a 4 because of his inability to rebound?  And here Byrd claims Harrington was best-suited to be a 4?

Unless Byrd aims to take smallball where it has never gone before, it sounds like he's a little misguided.

I don't get it
The first one is classic, I remember watching it when it happened.
The second one is.......well pretty awesome. I guess she was just trying to be smart......right? I don't get her answer at all.

DUUUH
it's pretty obvious. I think she hit it on the head really. "U.S. Americans" are bad at geography because 1) we don't have maps and 2) we need to help other countries/continents with their education system. That's how we'll end our "war on geographical incompetence."

by dj fuzzylogic on Aug 28, 2007 4:13 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Aha!
Finally, a logical explanation of why we invaded "Eye-Rack." We just wanted to help them learn geography! It all makes sense now...

I have to say, didn't really get the part about South Africa, though. Are we invading them next? Are they part of Al Qaeda? Are they with us or against is? Did they ever find the link between apartheid, Nigerian yellowcake, and 9-11? Uh oh, now I'm confused again...

And what about
"Th' Asian Countries"? What are we going to be about them? They need help! Hey, what's the capital of Th' Asian Countries again?

by Sleepy Freud on Aug 28, 2007 9:08 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

only by helping others
can we help ourselves! maybe she was making a historical reference that we had already invaded Asian countries in the past, hence their poor knowledge on geography. maybe we need to start blaming the cartographers for this mess in the states. down with the cartographers and their union!

A very, very enlightened thing to say.

Clearly, you're not from these parts ;-)...

cant blame her
she probably was a little nervous. Wouldn't u be? It was a really dumb answer to an easy question, but the millions of people watching probably made her feel a little weird and not so confident. it was a weird question also.

she is hot, and please no one disagree with me, cause its my opinion.

GO SOUTH CAROLINA!
